God's plan for the end
The Life Story of Jesus reveals God’s plan for the Final Generation
Update: This page was my first attempt to explain the prophecy about the end times birth. I wrote this page during 2019 before I began full time mission. I made a few improvements and added links in about 2022.
The theology discussed on this page is illustrated in this diagram:
Jesus spoke about the final generation in the Olivet Discource:
“I tell you the truth, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened.” - Matthew 24v34, Mark 13v30 and Luke 21v32
But what things must happen?
Prophecy always reveals Jesus. The pattern of his life is a testimony that reveals the journey of salvation.
The book of Revelation begins:
“The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show his servants what must soon take place… the word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ.” (Rev 1v1-2)
The testimony of Jesus is the story of His life beginning at birth, and continuing until His death and resurrection.
“The testimony of Jesus is the Spirit of prophecy,” (Rev 19v10).
The main events in Jesus’ life reveals God’s plan for the final generation, or perhaps it is better said that the journey of the final generation will reveal Jesus.
Jesus' Story
Three big things happened during Jesus' life that reveal God’s plan for the end:
Jesus escaped the enemy at his birth and baptism.
He lived a blessed life and had a powerful ministry during times of Roman world government.
He defeated sin and death at the cross, and rose victorious.
These three parts of Jesus life form a prophetic pattern.
Jesus fulfilled God’s word perfectly, but the story isn’t over yet. It continues in us today. Jesus is the example that we must follow.
The redeemed from mankind “follow the Lamb wherever he goes.” (Rev 14v4b).
Prophecy always begins at birth, whether spiritually or apocalyptically:
Spiritually we must be ‘born again’ to escape the enemy of sin and the power of death. From that point onwards we follow Jesus.
Apocalyptically the birth is presented as an escape from a real calamity to begin a special journey with God. To understand God’s plan for the last days we need to study the birth and the escape at beginning of the journey. It is presented many times in Scripture.
Birth
Escaping Calamity
Preparing for Glory
Jesus was born with great signs from heaven, but then King Herod tried to kill Him, slaughtering the children. It was just a warning to foreshadow a much greater battle, and the more glorious victory to be won later, at the cross.
To fulfil prophecy it is believed that the final generation will have a similar kind of ‘birth’, like an awakening to God’s plan for the end as we escape a significant end times conflict, a King Herod moment.
A time of war is expected. It will come on the world like birth pains, but “the end is still to come.” (Mat 24v6-8). A key scripture to be considered is Daniel 11v40-44, a war at the time of the end, but not the final battle. The escape from war is just the beginning of the journey.
The faithful remnant of God’s end times generation will escape a King Herod style slaughter of the innocent, and embark on a special life long journey, empowered and sent out to proclaim; "The time has come… The kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news!" — Mark 1v15
The purpose of this article is:
To consider the BIRTH of the final generation as revealed in the life of Jesus, and the typological examples of the Old Testament.
To draw attention to some recent SIGNS of the coming birth, and escape from calamity.
To highlight the Daniel 11v36-44 prophecy, describing a great WAR that begins the journey of the last days.
To urge people to be ready for ACTION, to consider how to care for each other as these things begin to take place.
Testimonies
Stories Revealing the End Times Journey
The Old Testament contains stories that foreshadowed Jesus. The events of Jesus’ life were revealed from the beginning typologically, especially in Israel.
Isaiah 40v10,
“I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come.”
As God revealed Jesus, he was also revealing His plan for the end, because “The testimony of Jesus is the Spirit of prophecy.” — Rev 19v10b.
Moses' Story
Moses is the closest example of Jesus. The three part pattern of Jesus’ life is revealed in the life of Moses:
Moses was born while Pharaoh was killing the children. When only three months old he was placed in a little ark on the Nile River to escape.
Moses lived in Egypt - like world government, and also in the wilderness caring for his father-in-law’s sheep.
The Exodus brought freedom from slavery, and was a great victory for Israel - crossing over from Egypt towards the Promised Land.
The little boat that baby Moses was placed in was an “ark” — (Hebrew: תֵּ֣בַת - tebah) Exodus 2v2 & 5. This connects with the story of Noah’s flood.
Noah’s Story
The story of Noah's flood relates to birth and baptism.
The Hebrew word used for ark — “tebah”, connects with the story of the birth of Moses, and Moses’ escape from the slaughter of the infants connects directly with the birth of Jesus.
Noah's family escaped the flood in the ark. Like a birth, it was called a baptism (1 Pet 3v20-21). Then God established a covenant with all flesh (Gen 6-9).
Nimrod was a mighty warrior on the earth. He established great centres of power and built the great city (Gen 10v8-12). Nimrod was the great world ruler when men built the Tower of Babel (Gen 11).
God acted in judgement, creating the confusion of the languages to put a stop to the works of mankind, and God scattered all the nations (Gen 11v1-9).
Scattering and gathering relates to death and resurrection:
Death is a scattering event, symbolised by God’s judgement at the tower of Babel. When we die our works are also stopped, and we are divided or separated from our people.
Resurrection is a gathering event. In Christ we are “gathered” to our people, (Gen 25v8, 17, 35v29 etc.) When Jesus returns he will gather all his people from the very ends of the earth. (Mat 24v31, Mark 13v27, 1 Thess 4v17).
Prophecy begins at birth, so the flood is particularly interesting.
Escaping a Flood of War
“The end will come like a Flood: War will continue until the end…” (Dan 9v26)
Apocalyptically, the flood represents war, famine and plague. There are many examples to consider. Two key passages that describe an end times war as a flood include:
Revelation 12 — (flood v15-16)
Daniel 11v36-44 — (flood v40)
Jesus told us not to be alarmed by wars and rumours of war because ‘the end is yet to come’. These are just ‘the beginning of birth pains’. (Mat 24v6-8). This calamity doesn’t bring the end… not straight away. Rather it is like a call to repentance, and for many it will be a kind of birth.
Signs of Birth
Important moments of birth come with signs:
Jesus was born with a sign in heaven, which the Magi followed to Bethlehem.
Noah’s flood brought the sign of the rainbow in the sky as God made a covenant.
Moses’ birth relates to the Revelation 12 sign in two ways:
— his escape from the slaughter of the infants,
— as part of the larger Egypt story from Joseph’s time.
The Revelation 12 sign
A special sign has recently been observed: the Revelation 12 sign of 23rd September 2017. This sign relates to the birth of Jesus and Moses, and is a cosmic display of repentance.
Having recently occurred in our skies, this sign is believed to be God’s announcement of the coming birth of the final generation.
The Sign of Birth:
A great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet and a crown of twelve stars on her head. She was pregnant and cried out in pain as she was about to give birth. — Revelation 12v1-2
This alignment happened in the sky during the Jewish feast of Trumpets, on Shabbat Shuva, the day of Repentance in 2017. If you have not yet heard or are unfamiliar, please be sure to have a look:
— Revelation 12 sign.
The Sign of the Dragon:
Revelation 12 continues:
Then another sign appeared in heaven: an enormous red dragon…
The dragon stood in front of the woman who was about to give birth, so that it might devour her child the moment he was born. — Revelation 12v3-4.
The dragon is Satan, and symbolically King Herod or Egypt. Egypt was called ‘Rahab’ — the dragon (Job 26v12-13, Isaiah 30v7, 51v9-10, Psalm 87v4, 89v11). The dragon wants to devour the Christ child.
In addition to the above mentioned sign of birth in 2017, a remarkable reversal pattern in the eclipses began in 2015, apparently the sign of the dragon (Rev 12v3):
— The Eclipse Reversal of 2015.
The Escape from War:
She gave birth to a son, a male child, who “will rule all the nations with an iron scepter.” And her child was snatched up to God and to his throne. The woman fled into the wilderness to a place prepared for her by God, where she might be taken care of for 1,260 days.
And there was war in heaven... — Revelation 12v5-7a.
from his mouth the serpent spewed water like a river, to overtake the woman and sweep her away with the torrent. But the earth helped the woman… — Revelation 12v15-16a
In addition to the Revelation 12 sign, more impressive signs relating to conflict at the appointed time of birth include:
— God’s 777 Signs,
— Biblical Chronology: 6000 Years.
By pointing to birth, these signs do not indicate an imminent end. Instead they present a warning, and a call to repentance. They also give us reason to consider making an escape prior to an apocalyptic war.
The end differs from the birth in that it comes without warning, like a thief in the night.
— There is no sign of the end.
Interpretation
The Origin of the Revelation 12 Sign
The Revelation 12 sign originates from two Old Testament signs of birth:
Joseph in Genesis helped Israel escape famine by going down to Egypt. Joseph dreamed about his family in terms of “the sun, moon and eleven stars” coming to bow down to him (Genesis 37v9). That was the ‘birth’ of the Egypt journey.
Immanuel in Isaiah 7 was born as a sign when the King of Assyria was coming. The faithful remnant escaped.
These two stories provide important context to Revelation 12, being the source of the imagery for that sign of birth, so to understand the Revelation 12 sign of 2017 we need to study Jospeh and Immanuel as they relate to the birth of Jesus.
Joseph's Story
In Genesis, Joseph (son of Jacob) helped his family escape famine in Egypt. As mentioned above, this story provides background to the birth of God’s child in Revelation 12.
The move to Egypt also foreshadows the birth of Jesus and His escape from King Herod which took him to Egypt.
Joseph’s famine is also parallel to Noah’s flood, being a world wide calamity from which God’s family escape. In this regard it is also a form of birth or baptism.
The story has three parts, according to the pattern of prophecy:
Joseph understood that a famine was coming. Like Noah, he prepared for the calamity and God saved the family of Israel along with many others in Egypt
Israel remained in Egypt which was like world government
until the Exodus (where Jesus was revealed as the passover lamb).
The Exodus takes place so that an entry can be made into the Promised Land. In the end we must leave this world to enter the new creation.
This pattern of events resembles the life of Jesus.
Prophecy continues in God’s people today. The move to Egypt represents the fall. The curse of sin had Adam and Eve removed from the Garden of Eden, making birth difficult and the ground cursed, just as Egypt became a place of slavery for Israel.
The Joseph / Egypt story ultimately presents the apocalyptic birth with a journey to come in the last days. The famine is expected to be caused by war, which will give rise to the final Egypt-like world government of history.
The final event is the Exodus, a symbolic death and resurrection which reveals Jesus. In Revelation 15 the exodus relates to the second coming of Jesus when God’s people will escape the final world Government of history, the beast of the last days.
Immanuel's Story
The birth of Immanuel is presented as a sign of God’s help as war approached:
“Be careful, keep calm and don’t be afraid. Do not lose heart…” — Isaiah 7v4.
Jesus also tells us not to fear wars and rumours of war (Mat 24v6-8).
Isaiah instructed King Ahaz of Judah to ask God for a sign, but he refused.
“Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel.” (Isaiah 7v14).
Immanuel is a typological sign of the Christ child:
Immanuel means “God with us”, but before the child is old enough to know right from wrong the King of Assyria will come and destroyed the land. (Isaiah 7v15 onwards). The war will come like ‘a flood up to the neck,’ (Is 8v8).
The surviving remnant continued with God while Assyria ruled the world, until
Judgement came on Jerusalem (Is 29). Later, Nebuchadnezzar destroyed the city and the temple.
Jesus is the temple. He destroyed and rebuilt the temple in three days — at the cross (John 2v19-22).
Again we see the whole life of Jesus presented symbolically. Isaiah’s children and the faithful remnant reveal God’s plan of salvation for the end times.
Apocalyptic Sin and Escape
The Spiritual calamity is Sin
We are born into sin, but by God’s grace, through faith in Jesus we may escape and be saved. The escape requires repentance. It brings new birth, and it begins the spiritual journey of salvation.
The spiritual journey is the real journey, but sometimes, at God’s appointed times, the journey can also be apocalyptic.
The Apocalyptic calamity involves:
Escaping a slaughter of the infants (for Jesus and Moses)
Escaping a flood (Noah)
Escaping a famine (Joseph)
Escaping a war (Immanuel)
More examples are to be considered, but ultimately prophecy foreshadows an escape from world war three.
At that time the final generation will begin the apocalyptic journey of the last days, continuing in God’s blessing until the final battle on the day of the Lord.
The Final Battle:
Death and Resurrection (Heb 9v27)
The Cross (for Jesus Heb 9v28)
Scattering and Gathering (Noah’s pattern)
Exodus and Entry (Joseph and Moses’ pattern)
Temple destroyed and rebuilt (Isaiah’s pattern)
God’s people who remain faithful to the end will Cross2Victory.
Lots more could be said about the battle at the end of the journey, but at the present time we have urgent reasons to focus on the birth.
We now have the sign of birth, the Immanuel sign! — The Revelation 12 sign of 2017.
The birth of Immanuel was a sign from God (Isaiah 7v10-14). The birth in Revelation 12 is also a sign from God (Rev 12v1).
Both are signs of war.
A Seven Year Warning
The Revelation 12 sign of 2017 warns of war in about 2023 or 2024
We saw earlier that the imagery of the Revelation 12 sign comes from two Old Testament stories:
Joseph’s dream of the sun, moon and stars in Genesis 37,
The birth of Immanuel which is a sign in Isaiah 7.
Both stories indicate that the calamity and escape come with an approximate 7 year warning:
Joseph had seven years to prepare for a seven year famine (Gen 41v25-37. Then when Joseph saved his family they came symbolically as the sun, the moon and the eleven stars, and they bowed down to him in Egypt.
Immanuel was also be about 7 years old when the King of Assyria came:
“He will eat curds and honey when he knows enough to reject the wrong and choose the right. But before the boy knows enough to reject the wrong and choose the right, the land of the two kings you dread will be laid waste.” — Isaiah 7v15-16.
The age of reason is about 7 years old, so we have confirmation that the sign of birth in Revelation 12 presents a 7 year warning of a major war.
As we consider the birth of the final generation, the Revelation 12 sign of 2017 indicates that a major war will occur in about 2023 or 2024.
We have other signs that agree with this approximate timing.
— Seven Year Warning
The clearest confirmation that world war three is near will be in the way that the conflict begins. It is described in Daniel 11v36-44. This is a very important prophecy, to be considered next.
Please pray about this and test the prophetic message. Study the birth, be aware of the signs, and if you see this war coming, please be ready to act to warn others and to look after people. God promises to help us make a successful escape.
The Daniel 11 Prophecy
World War Three
The most important prophecy in Scripture relating to the approaching end times war is found in Daniel’s last vision of chapters 10-12.
Daniel’s vision is introduced in Daniel 10v1, “Its message was true and it concerned a great war.”
Daniel 11v36-44 describes the war that will begin the events of the last days. To understand the prophecy correctly we need to recognise how the pattern of events relates to the life of Jesus.
Biblical patterns that reveal Jesus have three parts:
— a birth with an escape from a calamity such as war,
— a blessed life during testing times such as world government,
— until death and resurrection.
As prophecy reveals Jesus, it also reveals the journey of the final generation, because “the testimony of Jesus is the Spirit of prophecy.” — Rev 19v10b.
The Structure of Daniel 11 and 12:
Daniel’s usual method is to present his visions twice, firstly in relation to ancient events, and secondly to foreshadow end times events.
Chapters 11-12 is likewise a prophecy presented twice:
— The first pattern (11v1-35) relates to ancient Greek times.
— The second pattern (11v36-12v13) is for the last days.
The first pattern for the Greek period:
The ancient world conquered by Alexander the great (v2-4)
Greece ruled the world (v5-30) until
The abomination that causes desolation (v31-35)
The abomination was a very severe persecution as recorded in the books of Maccabees. In 165 BC it was the last historical event of Old Testament history.
The second pattern is the same, but specifically for the last days:
A war at the time of end (v36-44)
A world government (v45)
A great distress and the resurrection of the dead (12v1-3)
The pattern is consistent with the life of Jesus, but this one is specifically describing the journey of the final generation.
The war at birth reaches a climax in verse 44, and describes a great destruction in terms that resembles the slaughter of the infants by King Herod, while also sitting parallel to Alexander the Great’s conquest of the ancient world.
In today’s context the climax of war in Daniel 11v44 will be a full scale nuclear exchange between the world’s superpowers. This is why the escape from the calamity at the time of birth is revealed as a miraculous act of God’s grace.
This brief outline of Daniel’s last prophecy was an introduction. Now lets look at the prophecy again in more detail.
The Greek Story
Daniel 11 — The First Section (v2-35)
The first section of Daniel’s vision, Daniel 11v2-35 relates to ancient Greek times, and according the prophetic pattern some details relate closely to the circumstances of Jesus’ life, and therefore will be important to end times prophecy.
The three main events relate to birth, life and death as follows:
Alexander the Great conquers the whole known world (v2-3). But he died and the Greek empire broke into four parts (v4).
Subsequent wars continued between kings of the north and kings of the south; the Seleucid’s in Syria and the Ptolemies in Egypt (v5-30). Israel was in the middle during times of Greek world government.
The abomination that causes desolation (v31-35) was a severe persecution of the Jews by Antiochus IV Epiphanies in 167 - 165 B.C. He sacrificed pigs on the alter, tried to destroy the Jewish religion, burnt the Scriptures, and killed those who resisted.
This pattern of events reveals the birth, life, and death of Jesus. We need to understand the pattern so that we can consider the journey of the end times generation which is described in the second part of Daniel’s vision.
Alexander the Great / King Herod the Great
Consider how this pattern of events relates to the life of Jesus. Alexander the Great parallels with King Herod the Great:
King Herod acted on a smaller scale, but his slaughter of the infants represents a similar overwhelming force against a people unable to defend themselves. Then like Alexander, Herod died a short time later.
In both cases, their kingdoms were subsequently divided into four parts:
Speaking of Alexander, Daniel said;
“… his empire will be broken up and parceled out toward the four winds of heaven…” Daniel 11v4b
When Herod died his Kingdom was also divided into four, being given to three of his sons and a sister to become a tetrarchy. The rulers were called ‘tetrarchs’ as mentioned in Luke 3v1.
In prophetic and apocalyptic Scriptures, four parts symbolise the four corners of the earth, representing whole world; north, south, east and west.
Alexander the great was the greatest conqueror of ancient times, taking control of the Persian kingdom, and most of the known world.
Greek World Government
Israel escaped the wrath of Alexander the Great, but became part of the Greek Empire, ruled mostly by the Ptolemaic Kingdom in the south, but sometimes by the Seleucids of Syria in the North.
Having survived King Herod, Jesus lived during the Roman world government. The parallel will also extend into the journey of the final generation.
The end times beast of Revelation 13 will rule all the peoples of the earth, having great world wide power. Like the other kingdoms, it will rise through warfare by military conquest (Dan 7 vs 7, 19 & 23, Rev 6v2).
During the Greek period, subsequent conflicts are described in terms of the kings of the north against the kings of the south as conflict continued between the Seleucid’s of Syria and the Ptolemies of Egypt. Both regimes were of Greek origin.
The conflict of the last days (v40-44) is described in the same terms, kings of the north and kings of the south. We know that Daniel accurately foresaw the events of the Greek period in fine detail, so we can expect a similar fulfilment in the last days.
The Abomination that Causes Desolation
In Daniel 11v21 Antiochus IV Epiphanies is introduced as a ‘contemptible person’. He is a type of antichrist and persecuted God’s people severely.
Jesus described the abomination that causes desolation in Matthew 24 while explaining how the end will come. There, in v15 Jesus refers us back to Daniel for understanding.
Daniel explains the purpose of this final suffering in Dan 11v35:
“Some of the wise will stumble so that they may be refined, purified and made spotless until the time of the end, for it will still come at the appointed time.” — Dan 11v35. (Repeated in the parallel section — Dan 12v10)
In Jesus’ life, this suffering relates to the cross. Jesus died to refine, purify and make us spotless in God’s sight.
The abomination will be the greatest suffering ever since there was a nation, and never to be equaled again (Dan 12v2 and Mat 24v21). The Son of God crucified for the sin of the world is certainly the greatest suffering and abomination in God’s sight.
Now we are called to take up our cross and follow Him. If we share in the sufferings of Christ we will also share in his glory when he comes (Romans 8v17).
Prophecy follows the pattern of the life of Jesus. The events of the Greek period relate to the life of Jesus, but also foreshadows the end of the age.
End Times Story
Daniel 11 — The Second Section (v36 ff)
The second section of Daniel’s vision, Dan 11v36-12v13 speaks of events to occur “At the time of the end” (Dan 11v40), and these events remain unfulfilled, as many Bible commentators agree. That makes this passage especially interesting.
A boastful king is described (Dan 11v36-39) who will engage in war. He will invade many countries “like a flood” (v40-43). The conflict will result in a great destruction (v44). But the end will not come right away...
“How long will it be before these astonishing things are fulfilled?”
…“It will be for a time, times and half a time…” (Dan 12v6-7)
According to the pattern of prophecy the three times, or three parts in the journey of the last days will reflect the life of Jesus:
— Birth and Escape,
— World Government,
— Death and Resurrection.
World war three, Dan 11v44:
“But reports from the east and the north will alarm him, and he will set out in a great rage to destroy and annihilate many.”— This is the climax of the war, and is described in terms that resemble King Herod’s reaction to the reports that came from the east by the wise men.
World government, Dan 11v45:
“He will pitch is royal tents between the seas at the beautiful holy mountain”
— Government authority between the people and God.The end, Dan 12v1-2:
“At that time Michael, the great prince who protects your people, will arise. There will be a time of distress such as has not happened from the beginning of nations until then. But at that time your people—everyone whose name is found written in the book—will be delivered. 2 Multitudes who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake: some to everlasting life, others to shame and everlasting contempt.
— The great tribulation is a crisis of the cross. It will be followed by the great resurrection of the dead and the final judgement.
We follow Jesus. The journey of the final generation will resemble the life of Jesus according to this pattern of events.
In the end we will cross from suffering to glory.
We will Cross 2 Victory.
Introduction to end times war:
The second part of Daniel’s final vision begins with a description in vs 36-39 of the character and power of the conqueror who will come at the end.
He is introduced in the same way Alexander the Great is described: “The king will do as he pleases.” — v36. The same phrase is used in verse 3b.
Alexander the Great is like King Herod the Great, or the Great King of Assyria during Immanuel’s time, and now we have ‘Make America Great’…
The king will “exalt and magnify himself”,
he will say “unheard of things”,
“He will be successful until the time of wrath is completed…” v39.
This is the character of Trump, and many signs are strongly pointing to his return to office to fulfil prophecy, especially the 777 signs.
Be aware, there are plans to make Trump speaker of the house in 2023. If this goes ahead, an impeachment of Biden will make Trump president again sooner than we would otherwise expect.
However it seems likely that Biden will begin the initial invasions described in verses 40-43.
Biden and Iran:
When conflict begins it seems likely that many of the world’s trouble spots could erupt almost simultaneously. The Bible doesn’t give details on localised events in far away places, but it does predict a certain conflict that will begin in the Middle East.
Daniel 11v40-43 describes a sequence of invasions in the Middle East that will move through many countries “like a flood” (v40). This leads up to the major calamity of verse 44 which is the immediate focus of this entire study — nuclear war.
The invasion through the Middle East will move from north to south as described in vs 40-43. Iran in the north is currently working to develop nuclear weapons and Israel have vowed to put a stop to it. When conflict begins America will be drawn in.
It will take several months, or possibly over a year for the invasions to occur as described in verses 40-43, so this will give us the much needed time to prepare survival plans and move out of the cities so that many lives may be saved.
Verse 41 gives us further evidence that this will be an American invasion: “Edom, Moab and the leaders of Ammon will be delivered from his hand.” These regions make up the modern day country of Jordan, and they are an American ally.
The invasion will continue southwards into Egypt, and he will take control of the wealth of Egypt, with Libya and Nubia (Ethiopia and / or Northern Sudan in submission. (v42-43)
At some point during this time Trump will become president again, probably shortly before the destruction foretold in verse 44.
An Act of Rage:
“But reports from the east and the north will alarm him, and he will set out in a great rage to destroy and annihilate many.” — Daniel 11v44.
Consider how v44 relates to the birth of Jesus:
Reports from the east came by the wise men, to King Herod, and Jesus escaped the slaughter of the infants.
Jesus’ escape from King Herod is of great encouragement to us.
Today the east is China, the north is Russia, and if America invades the Middle East as described in Dan 11v40-43, we will need to urgently prepare to make a good escape from a full scale nuclear war. God promises to give his people success!
The Cross2Victory ministry is on high alert for this coming flood of war, seeking to help as many people as possible to be ready to make a successful escape.
With God’s help we will be able to care for each other and continue living in His blessing, so that we may continue the work of the Gospel in the post apocalyptic world, proclaiming the good news about Jesus after the war.
Adam, Noah, Joseph, & Immanuel:
The nuclear war of v44 will destroy much of the world in just an hour, but the effects of radiation pollution will be ongoing. It will be like the fall of mankind, the original sin of Adam and Eve when birth pains came and the ground was cursed, Gen 3v16-18.
The nuclear winter will be like Noah’s flood or Joseph’s 7 year famine — a world wide event, but we needn’t fear. Immanuel means, God is with us. It is not the end, just a birth.
This will be “the hour of trial that is going to come upon the whole world to test those who live on the earth.” — Rev 3v10.
War is likely to begin very soon, so please bring this prophecy to the attention of those who have good Bible knowledge, who are able to test it and who can make preparations, acting with valuable foresight to save many people’s lives.
These verses, Daniel 11v36-44 will either confirm or deny the urgency the message. By watching these verses we will know whether or not this prophecy is for our time. In this way the prophecy can be tested.
If found true, this message will be a great blessing to all those who take action to prepare a place, to get an ark ready helping many people to make a good escape before the disaster strikes.
World Government
This war does not bring the end of the world yet. Instead it brings world government:
“He will pitch his royals tents between the seas at the beautiful holy mountain. Yet he will come to his end, and no one will help him.” — Daniel 11v45
In prophetic writings the seas represent the people of the world, and the mountain is God’s place. So here we see government authority between the people and God, which is normal world government behaviour.
In Revelation 13 the beast will come up out of the sea. But Gospel work will go on. Jesus himself lived and served God in the Roman empire.
Mar-a-lago means sea to lake — ‘between the seas’. The lady who built the resort somehow knew that it would be for the American president.
The End
The end involves death and resurrection. This is the final battle is where the greatest victory is won as Jesus did for us at the cross. It is the greatest suffering ever, but brings the greatest glory (Dan 12v1-3). We can’t avoid death and judgement, but by faith we know we will be victorious in Christ.
It is not a military battle between nations, although it can be presented that way, for example Gog and Magog (Exe 38-39). The final battle actually happens through a decree that is issued as an act of betrayal, causing a great persecution (Dan 6, Esther).
This moment of great suffering at the end is called, the abomination that causes desolation. It is also described in 2 Thessalonians 2 when the man of lawlessness sets himself up in the temple, proclaiming himself to be God.
The final suffering described in Daniel 12v1 occurs when Michael arises, and protection is removed (2 Thess 2v6-7).
At that time the saints are defeated Dan 7v21 & 25. Here the time, times and half a time, represents all the suffering of a lifetime condensed into three and a half years, or 42 months, or 1260 days, or more specifically the number given in Dan 12v12.
“When the power of the holy people has finally been broken all these things will be completed.” — Dan 12v7b.
“But in the days when the seventh angel is about to sound his trumpet, the mystery of God will be accomplished, just as he announced to his servants the prophets.” — Rev 10v7
“It is finished.” — John 19v30.
“It is done.” — Rev 21v6.
We will Cross 2 Victory.
Pentecost
Early Church Story
Pentecost was the birth of the early church, and now it is a prophecy that will soon be fulfilled by the birth of the final generation.
We see a reflection of the life of Jesus in the early church, and we see it again in the last days church:
The church was born in apocalyptic circumstances soon after the crucifixion of Jesus. The prophet Joel was quoted.
The church had about 40 years of ministry in Israel, until
The end of Israel in 70 A.D. when the Romans destroyed the city and the temple.
The destruction of the temple represents the end, and for the Modern Nation of Israel this may happen very soon, but for the church we can expect the end times birth.
The true Pentecost moment for all God’s people comes when we respond to the gospel of Jesus in faith, with repentance. At that time God puts his Spirit in our hearts, and we are ‘born again’.
The true Pentecost is always a spiritual new birth. But at certain appointed times, God also uses apocalyptic events to reveal Jesus to the world. The apocalyptic Pentecost of the of the final generation is described by the prophet Joel.
Apocalyptic Pentecost
On the day of Pentecost Peter spoke, quoting from the prophet Joel where he described an out pouring of God’s Spirit in frightening circumstances involving an escape from blood, fire and billows of smoke. It will be a great awakening:
“‘In the last days, God says,
I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy,
your young men will see visions,
your old men will dream dreams.
18 Even on my servants, both men and women,
I will pour out my Spirit in those days,
and they will prophesy. —Acts 2v17-18
Daniel foresaw a future awakening, an unsealing of prophecy when he said, “these words are closed and sealed up until the time of the end… None of the wicked will understand, but those who are wise will understand.” — Daniel 12v4, 9-10.
If the Pentecost of the early church was a great awakening, world war three will cause these words to be unsealed in our hearts and minds again, but on another level. By God’s Spirit, and our understanding will greatly increase.
19 I will show wonders in the heavens above
and signs on the earth below,
blood and fire and billows of smoke.
20 The sun will be turned to darkness
and the moon to blood
before the coming of the great and glorious day of the Lord.
21 And everyone who calls
on the name of the Lord will be saved.’
Acts 2v17-21
The blood, fire and billows of smoke is apocalyptic imagery originally used by the prophet Joel to describe a great war that destroyed the land. The final generation of the church will see these things fulfilled as we come through a nuclear winter.
The escape from this great calamity will be celebrated:
“everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” — v21. Revelation 12v10-12 describes this same celebration.
Spiritual truth will again be expressed in an outwardly visible way as it was in Old Testament times, with an apocalyptic journey beginning with the birth of the final generation.
The ‘wonders in the heavens above and signs on the earth below’ — v19 are already starting to be seen: The Revelation 12 sign of 2017 and the Eclipse Reversal of 2015, the 777 signs, etc.
We are not approaching the end just yet. There is no sign of the end. Rather signs are given at the time of birth, on Pentecost.
Gifts of healing and miraculous signs will accompany God’s people, with a blessed life and powerful ministry in the post apocalyptic world, while a world government rules, until 70 AD.
The End
In 70 AD the Roman’s destroyed the city and the temple, bringing and end to the Old Testament nation of Israel. This is the pattern revealed in both Jesus, and the early church.
The temple represents Jesus, and by His death and resurrection the temple of his body was destroyed and rebuilt in three days, John 3v19-22.
The final events of history are of a sensitive nature and not suitable to speak about in plain language. That’s why patterns and parables are used. But if we are putting into practise Jesus’s instruction to take up our cross and follow Him we will be victorious on the Day of the Lord.
We are God’s nation, the city of God and the true temple of God.
The abomination that causes desolation is a persecution. Peter says, “For it is time for judgement to begin in the household of God, and if it begins with us what will the outcome be for those who do not obey the Gospel of God?” — 1 Peter 4v17.
Those who share in the sufferings of Christ will share in his glory when he comes.
The birth of Israel
Joshua’s Story
Passing through the waters of the Red Sea, and coming to Mount Sinai, the Exodus represents the birth and baptism of the nation of Israel (1 Cor 10v2). So another prophetic story begins.
Coming into the wilderness Israel had escaped Egypt, but then they faced the wrath of God at Mount Sinai. Again Israel thought they would die, but God was there to bless his people, and to covenant with them.
Israel wondered for 40 years in the wilderness because of sin
Moses gave his final prophecy, and was gathered to his people. Joshua lead Israel across the Jordan on dry ground, a second Exodus as they entered the Promised Land. They were circumcised, celebrated Passover, and were victorious at the battle of Jericho.
This pattern resembles the life of Jesus. It reveals the journey of Salvation for us spiritually, and also the apocalyptic journey coming for the final generation as we look forward to the salvation that will be revealed from heaven when Jesus returns.
Joshua was a young man when he came out from Egypt, and his Hebrew name, Yeshua is the name Jesus, and means, ‘salvation’.
Birth
Israel reveals the life story of Jesus.
“Out of Egypt I called my son.” — Matthew 2v15b
The exodus represents birth.
“Israel is my firstborn son.” — Exodus 4v22b
Three months into their journey they arrived at Mount Sinai (Ex 19v1-2). This corresponds to when Moses was born, he was also three months old when escaping Pharaoh, and the slaughter of the infants (Ex 2v2-3).
Therefore Mount Sinai corresponds to the King Herod moment in the life of Jesus.
Perhaps the final generation might also get an approximate three month warning. I don’t know what it will be, but the return of Trump during the Daniel 11 war would be fitting.
See also, Seven Year Warning.
The wrath of God was on Mount Sinai, with fire and smoke, earthquake, and thunder, and the trumpet got louder and louder. If they touched the mountain they would die. (Exodus 19v16-19).
The people trembled with fear, kept their distance and asked Moses to speak to them rather than God because they feared that if God spoke to them directly they would die, (Exodus 20v18-19).
This apocalyptic imagery foreshadows world war three.
But in this moment of great danger God gives his people a miraculous escape, with great speed, on “eagles wings” — Exodus 19v4, Revelation 12v14.
Has any god ever tried to take for himself one nation out of another nation, by testings, by signs and wonders, by war, by a mighty hand and an outstretched arm, or by great and awesome deeds, like all the things the Lord your God did for you in Egypt before your very eyes? — Deut 4v34
God will empower us to look after each other, to act with wisdom in preparing a place to escape to in the wilderness, and with love to be a blessing to many others.
With the outpouring of the Spirit on Pentecost believers sold their possessions to be able to look after each other. “All the believers were together and had everything in common.” Acts 2v44-45.
The Exodus and Mount Sinai was the birth of the nation of Israel. Pentecost was the birth of the Church. Think of the birth of the final generation.
Things happen in threes at the time of birth:
At Mount Sinai 3000 people died (Ex 32v28). On the day of
Pentecost 3000 were saved (Acts 2v41).
When Jesus was born, Josephus recorded 3000 people being killed in the Temple on the day of Passover, only a few days after King Herod had died. (Antiquities of the Jews — Book XVII Chapter 9 section 3).
This event is also sometimes referred to by Bible commentators with regards to Luke 13v1 and Acts 5v37.Many people will die in world war three, maybe nearly 3 Billion (Rev 9v15).
Mount Sinai is where God made His covenant with Israel. He gave the law to be a blessing to His people, for long life and good health.
The covenant reveals everything to be either clean or unclean, and nuclear war will do exactly that:
The pollution of nuclear radiation settles on the ground in the dust. Certain animals that eat in the dirt are therefore called ‘unclean’.
Other animals that eat grass or plants without disturbing the dust are called ‘clean’.
In the example of Noah’s flood which was a kind of birth and baptism, Noah understood the principal of clean and unclean, and the covenant was made with all living creatures (Gen 9v10), and “all flesh” — Gen 9v15, 17.
At Pentecost also, God poured out His Spirit on “all flesh” — Acts 2v17.
Another example of birth was the exile to Babylon (Daniel’s story). The King of Babylon was given control even over the wild beasts (Jer 27v6, 28v14). “Your destruction of animals will terrify you” (Hab 2v17).
But with the wisdom from Mount Sinai we will know how to live in God’s blessing. When Daniel was taken captive to Babylon the first thing he did was to establish a lean diet in obedience to God’s commands (Dan 1v8-16).
The wisdom revealed on Mount Sinai will prove to be a powerful blessing that brings long life and good health to the post apocalyptic generation of God’s people so that we may continue the work of the great commission until Jesus returns.
Wilderness Journey
God traveled with his people as a pillar of cloud by day, and a column of fire at night. He provided manna from heaven, water from the rock, and the covenant law to be kept in “the ark of the testimony” (Ex 25v22).
God will provide for us in the post apocalyptic world. Water from the rock will be especially important. Spiritually it is Christ (1 Cor 10v4). Apocalyptically it will be ground water, boar water or water from certain springs.
World war three will pollute a lot of drinking water. In Revelation 8v10-11 the great burning star called “Wormwood” represents nuclear war, and it turned a third of the rivers and springs bitter.
The man who shook the earth when he fell like a star from heaven “made the world a desert” (Isaiah 14v12-17). When Jesus returns his judgement will be “for destroying those who destroy the earth” — Rev 11v18b.
Israel travelled for 40 years in the wilderness, and during that time the whole generation of fighting aged men of 20 years and above passed away in the wilderness except for two men. Only Joshua and Caleb were permitted to enter the Promised Land (Joshua 5v4-6 Numbers 14v29-30, 32v13).
Jesus said, “I tell you the truth, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened.” — Mat 24v34.
No-one knows the hour or the day of the second coming of Jesus. In addition to the 40 year wilderness journey, other typological examples include:
50 years Jubilee
65 years for Israel in Isaiah 7v8
70 years in Babylon
Moses was 80 at the time of the Exodus.
to the fourth generation (Gen 15v16)
Psalm 90v10 mentions a life span of 70 years, or 80 if we have strength. But if we are to count from fighting age of 20 and above this suggests a 50 or 60 year period.
For many people, the natural human lifespan will be shortened by the harsh post-apocalyptic environment, but if we live by God’s wisdom we should still have a full lifespan.
A lot of faith will be needed in the latter times not to accept the powerful life extension technologies that are coming. The lie of the antichrist will be very deceptive. The set times and laws will be challenged (Dan 7v25). Nothing men plan will be impossible (Gen 11v6).
Given the signs we have today, some of today’s children who remain committed to living God’s way, without unnatural life extension treatment, will live to see Jesus return.
Through Death and Resurrection to the Promised Land
When Israel reached the promised land the exodus was repeated as the water stopped flowing and they crossed over the Jordan River on dry ground (Joshua 3v13-17).
The Promised Land represents the new creation that we will enter when Jesus comes to get his bride. We commonly call it ‘heaven’.
We are separated from the life to come by death and resurrection which is signified by the baptism of the exodus. “Just as man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgement, so Christ was sacrificed...” — Heb 9v27.
This is the moment of war. Jesus fought the greatest battle and won the ultimate victory for us at the cross. So the Israelites crossed the Jordan opposite Jericho, armed for battle (Josh 4v13).
The battle of Jericho corresponds to the battle of Armageddon for the final generation, the great tribulation of death and resurrection as we cross over to the new creation. But to win the battle we need to be ready…
They were all circumcised on the other side of the Jordan (Joshua 5). Circumcision represents cutting of the sinful nature. True circumcision is circumcision of the heart (Deut 10v16, 30v6, Rom 2v25-29).
It is a covenant promise given to a new born child, relating to our new life of obedience in Christ when we are ‘born again’.
But when we enter into the new creation we will be made perfect and sinless in every way. There will be no sin in the new creation, so death, resurrection and judgement day will be a kind of circumcision as the sinful nature is cut off.
Having been circumcised, the Israelites celebrated Passover, (Joshua 5v10). If our sin is removed God’s wrath passes over. This is only made possible by the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross.
“Just as man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgement, so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many people; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.” — Heb 9v27-28.
We follow Jesus, and He calls us to take up our cross. There are spiritual and a physical layers of fulfilment. There are two baptisms. Physical death and resurrection is a moment of great sacrifice that corresponds to the Day of Atonement.
Not even the final generation will be able to continue in the flesh through the day of the Lord because even heaven and earth are passing away, and the elements will melt in the heat (2 Peter 3v10).
As Israel were preparing to enter the promised land Moses described the blessings and curses that await. He promised the Israelites that their sin would certainly deliver the curse of the law (Deuteronomy 31v16-18, 29).
Then Moses, as a true prophet lived out his prophecy because he also was a sinner. He went up Mount Nebo, died, and was gathered to his people (Deut 32v50-51, 34v5).
No-one is without sin yet. The complete circumcision of Israel happens on the other side of the Jordan. Until sin is completely removed we are still subject to the curse of the law which is destruction, or ultimately death.
Death is an abomination, and involves great tribulation. But although we can’t avoid death, but we don’t need to fear it if we are in Christ.
“The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” — 1 Cor 56-57.
Having crossed the Jordan River, been circumcised and kept Passover, the Israelites went on win the battle of Jericho which for us corresponds to the battle of Armageddon.
As we go through death and resurrection we will be victorious in Christ.
We will Cross 2 Victory.
Daniel’s Story
Daniel’s story is a close harmony with the testimony of Jesus. Both Daniel and Jesus escaped a calamity at a young age, lived and served God during times of world government, and they both knew the final hour of suffering that comes immediately before great kingdom glories.
Daniel was deported to Babylonian at a young age with the first group of Jewish exiles, escaping the worst of the calamity brought by the King of Babylon. He also shaped up well with his friends during 10 days of testing (Daniel 1).
Daniel lived the rest of his life, at least 70 years in Babylon which was like world government. He remained obedient to God while serving the King of Babylon.
In the first year of Darius the Mede, praying to God was outlawed, and Daniel suffered a horrible betrayal. He was subsequently sentenced to death and thrown into the lion’s den with a stone placed over its mouth. It could be called a tribulation, an abomination, but God saved Daniel and he was raised up the next morning, miraculously unhurt, (Daniel 6).
This pattern of events reveals Jesus. It also reveals the journey ahead for the final generation.
“Then King Darius wrote to all the peoples, nations and men of every language throught the earth... people must fear and reverence the God of Daniel… So Daniel prospered in the reign of Darius, and the reign of Cyrus, the Persian” (Dan 6v25-28).
King Cyrus was God’s anointed one who Isaiah prophecied would set the exiles free, (Is 45v13). Some Jews returned home in a move that mirrored the exodus. The end of the story foreshadows our ultimate going home to dwell with God in the new creation at the end of the age.
Jeremiah’s parallel story
Jeremiah provides more detail on what God was doing during the time of the Babylonian exile. Jeremiah was prophet in Jerusalem while Daniel was in Babylon.
Birth
Jeremiah 31 and the surrounding chapters are especially relevant to the theme of birth, with a prophecy about the slaughter of the infants, a new covenant and signs.
Jeremiah warned the people about God’s coming judgement, urging them not to fight, but to surrender (Jer 21v9, 38v17). This would probably have been surprising to some, but God promised to look after them in Babylon, and later he would regather his scattered people, even Israel saying,
“Ephraim is my firstborn son.” — Jeremiah 31v9b
The conquest was described as a slaughter of infants:
This is what the Lord says:
“A voice is heard in Ramah,
mourning and great weeping,
Rachel weeping for her children
and refusing to be comforted,
because they are no more.” — Jeremiah 31v18
This prophecy was fulfilled by King Herod when Jesus was a baby (Mat 2v15), and as Jesus’ life is prophetic it will also be fulfilled when the final generation is born at a time of world war three.
Ramah is mentioned as the place of weeping for a couple of reasons:
Rachel who died while giving birth (Gen 35v16-19) was buried near Ramah — 1 Samuel 10v2, (Samuel lived in Ramah).
Nebuchadnezzar was gathering up the exiles at Ramah prior to being deported to Babylon. In Jeremiah 40v1, Jeremiah himself was being held prisoner in Ramah. There would have been much weeping at that time.
At times of birth God makes His covenant with His people, so it is fitting for Jeremiah to prophesy about the new covenant in Jeremiah 31:
The days are coming,” declares the Lord,
“when I will make a new covenant
with the people of Israel
and with the people of Judah.
32 It will not be like the covenant
I made with their ancestors
when I took them by the hand
to lead them out of Egypt,
because they broke my covenant,
though I was a husband to them,”
declares the Lord.
33 “This is the covenant I will make with the people of Israel
after that time,” declares the Lord.
“I will put my law in their minds
and write it on their hearts.
I will be their God,
and they will be my people. — Jeremiah 31v31-33
This prophecy was fulfilled on Pentecost at the birth of the church, when God poured out His Spirit into our hearts. It continues today when we are born again, but in the near future we can consider the apocalyptic birth of the final generation.
Other times of birth where covenants were made include:
Noah’s flood — a covenant with all flesh
Abraham’s Chiasm including Gen 15 and 17 covenants.
The covenant at Mount Sinai when Israel was born as a nation.
Joash was only a baby when he survived the slaughter of the royal family by Ahab’s daughter, Athaliah. After 7 years he was crowned king of Judah at the age of 7, and Jehoiada the priest made covenants between the Lord, the new king and the people — 1 Kings 11.
The Davidic Covenant in 2 Samuel 7 was made when David began his Kingship.
Signs and wonders are also relevant to the time of birth and covenant making, as discussed in Jeremiah 32.
“You performed signs and wonders in Egypt and have continued them to this day, in Israel and among all mankind, and have gained the renown that is still yours. You brought your people Israel out of Egypt with signs and wonders, by a mighty hand and an outstretched arm and with great terror.” — Jeremiah 32v20-21
“See how the siege ramps are built up to take the city. Because of the sword, famine and plague, the city will be given into the hands of the Babylonians who are attacking it.” — Jeremiah 32v24
The siege ramps were a clear sign of the coming judgement in Jeremiah’s time, and in our current time we also have this kind of sign in the arms race and threats of conflict. Many other signs are pointing to world war three as discussed on the Cross2Victory website.
But even while the Babylonians were besieging the city, God told Jeremiah to buy a field. It was an act of faith, and a sign that God really would regather His people and make an everlasting covenant in the future (Jer 32v37-41).
We are now in Jeremiah’s position, seeing conflict is coming soon, a war that will be too big to fight. We will need to get out of the cities, and we can expect a special journey ahead for the final generation, but God is with us. Jesus, our Messiah will return in due course, as promised.
World Government:
Our time of ‘exile’ will be life in a post-apocalyptic world after the destruction of world war three. But we will continue to serve God during a future time of world government — Babylon the Great, the beast of Revelation 13 and Daniel 7.
Like Daniel, we will continue to serve God while in Babylon during the last days. God will be with us, and His advice in Jeremiah 29 is to settle down, build houses and serve the King of Babylon for the 70 year period of exile because if Babylon prospers, so will we.
Jacob’s Trouble
The end of the journey brings death and resurrection. We follow Jesus on that path. The final suffering will be brief.
“How awful that day will be! None will be like it. It will be a time of trouble of Jacob, but he will be saved out of it.” — Jeremiah 29v7
Death and resurrection is part of our life journey. It is a scattering and regathering. The crisis of the cross is a persecution, a lion’s den moment just as Daniel demonstrated at the very end of his life story (Daniel 6).
The whole nation of Israel demonstrated this suffering in the book of Esther which follows on after Daniel chronologically. A decree was issued that they would all be killed in one day, but through Esther and Mordecai it became a great victory.
Elsewhere it is called, ‘the battle of armageddon’ or ‘the great tribulation’, and it will be brought on to the final generation by the final antichrist.
We don’t need to fear the final hour. If we remain in Christ, while persecution is promised, if we share in His sufferings we will share in his glory when he comes.
Another Prophetic Cycle
While King Cyrus maked the end of the 70 years in Babylon he also signalled the beginning of another prophetic cycle as was revealed to Daniel in the prophecy of the 70 weeks, (Daniel 9).
Near the end of Daniel’s life, in the first year of Darius, he understood from the prophet Jeremiah that 70 years of exile were nearing completion, (Daniel 9v1-2). With prayer and repentance Daniel prayed for his people and recieved a vision about 70 weeks.
A severe judgement would occur in the 70th week directly before the kingdom of God was to be established, (Dan 9v24-27). For Daniel himself, the time had come to foreshadow God’s ultimate plans.
It is significant that Donald Trump is likened to King Cyrus as we consider the end of the age, and the beginning of the prophetic period of the final generation.
Adam and Eve’s Story
The testimony of Adam and Eve mirrors the journey of the final generation according to The Chiasm of World History.
The Testimony of Jesus
And the christ child generation of the last days
The first coming of Jesus was announced loudly by angels, with prophecies in the temple and a great sign in the heavens. But on news of his birth King Herod the Great tried to kill Jesus causing great harm and a terrible massacre of innocent children. Jesus was kept safe — it was only a warning.
According to the prophetic testimony of Jesus great signs and conflict will herald the birth of the ‘christ’ child generation of the last days, those ‘anointed’ to serve God to the very end of the age.
Revelation 12 foretells of great signs, and it is now believed that those signs have been observed. In light of recent events there are significant reasons to believe that the final generation is actually being born today. But the dragon waits…
The prophetic sequence of events to be expected next is laid out in Daniel 11v36 - 12v3, beginning with war.
If the christ child generation of the last days is actually being born now, we can be sure to expect a great flood of conflict to occur very soon - but we have the reassurance that it is not the end yet, (Mat 24v6-8). The flood is a baptism.
War and calamity are described as “the beginning of birth pains” (Mat 24v8).
There is now an immense opportunity to do good. If you hear the message, see the signs, and find truth here, be encouraged. We like Joseph and Mary will be able to act to protect God’s children from harm at a time of great vulnerability so that many lives may be saved and God’s kingdom may continue to advance in the last days.
The actual birth which is expected around 2023 or 2024, will be an evacuation from the cities prior to nuclear war. When King Herod hears that the child is born in Bethlehem — “the house of bread”, he will push the nuclear button.
By that time Noah will be in the ark, Lot will have left Sodom, Jospeh will have food stored up, and the people will be assembled at Mount Sinai for the feast of Trumpets.
Immanuel will be eating curds and honey, Daniel who left early will be settled and getting his diet right when Alexander the great goes out to conquer the world.
Jesus survived the major life threatening calamity caused by the egocentric King, Herod. Jesus went down to Egypt, to the place of the dragon, and he came out of Egypt to His Father’s calling. (Rev 12v1-5, Mat 2v15).
This first calamity and escape was a sign foreshadowing the greater exodus to come at the end of the age.
God’s plan for the last days will unfold according to the testimony of the Son of God. Having survived King Herod Jesus grew and became strong, filled with wisdom and grace.
When Jesus was baptised the Holy Spirit came on Him, and he went out into the desert for the prophetic period of forty, (like the period of seventy), nourished by the word of God and proving faithful in all tests. God said, “with him I am well pleased.” — Mat 3v17b.
We also will pass through the river of adversity, like the birth waters — a flood of war, a great baptism. If we are awake, we will be carried immediately by God’s Spirit out into the desert to a place of safety to be cared for during some testing times to come. (Mat 4v1, Mark 1v12, Rev 12 & Dan 9).
It will be a bittersweet experience, a time of great wrath, but with comfort and power as God will pour out His Spirit on us in those last days (Joel 2).
After world war three the final generation of God’s people will be empowered to continue serving God in the desert of this world, preaching the gospel of Jesus to all nations.
After surviving King Herod, and after being baptised Jesus showed obedience to his Father during testing times in the desert. While living under Roman rule — like world government, Jesus began a powerful ministry.
"The time has come,” he said. “The kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news!" — Mark 1v15
In the last days war and calamity will give rise to the final beast (Dan 7 and Rev 12-13). A world government will be formed in which the dragon (Satan) will establish his throne, but our power is in Christ and our salvation is sure.
We will complete God’s work with obedience and great power before following Jesus home in glory. In Christ we will be perfected, and when the time comes we will cross victoriously into the new creation.
The Cross
Jesus fought and won the greatest battle at the cross. He rose victorious from the grave and ascended into heaven accomplishing the greater exodus, and opening the way for us to follow into the new creation.
In the end the cross will become prominent again in the testimony of God’s people as the place of God’s sanctifying judgement. The end comes with a sacrifice — a sacrifice so great that it destroys the temple.
Jesus is the temple and in Him God’s judgement is perfectly satisfied. Jesus promised to destroy the temple and rebuild it in three days (John 2v19), and He did. Jesus died, offering Himself as the perfect sacrifice to cleanse us of sin and to remove sin’s curse from our lives. On the cross Jesus said, “It is finished” (John 19v30). His earthly body was destroyed, and sin atoned for. Then on the third day he rose victorious.
We too are God’s temple but in us prophecy remains incomplete — until we pass away and are raised up, or until the final event of world history when the Antichrist rules and Christ himself will appear to save us.
Perfection is coming, but first we must face God’s judgement. This is true both on an individual basis and also on the corporate level as applied to God’s people as a whole in the time of the end.
“For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive what is due him for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.” (2 Cor 5v10).
In Christ we are justified by faith. His work at the cross is done, but we continue to suffer while hoping and longing for the perfection and glory to come.
We have not yet obtained what is promised (Rom 8v17-25 and Phil 3v12). Therefore sanctification, purification, refinement and being made holy remains part of God’s plan for the end (Dan 11v35). We are called to take up our cross and follow Jesus, and we endure trials and tribulations patiently as God’s loving fatherly discipline.
“For it is time for judgement to begin with the household of God” (1 Peter 4v17a).
We will not face God’s full final wrath because by coming to the Father in Christ we find mercy. But we must all still face judgement. As Christ suffered for a short time, so must we, and death is that suffering.
The Olivet discourse (Mat 24) describes the abomination of that final suffering, the greatest suffering ever, which will begin with us immediately before the second coming — until it is cut short by Jesus’ return.
We who believe are called ‘God’s household’ — the temple of God, and the body of Christ. We are the ‘city of God’ — the new Jerusalem. We are also the ‘kingdom of God’ — the Israel of God.
With this in mind, the Olivet discourse confirms that God’s judgement will begin with us at the end of the age as foreshadowed in the events of both the cross of Christ, and 70 AD when the Romans destroyed Jerusalem and the temple.
“and if it begins with us what will the outcome be for those who do not obey the gospel of God?” (1 Peter 4v17b).
The desolation of Jerusalem and destruction of the temple is the final event before Jesus comes, Mat 24v15-35, Mark 13v11-31 and Luke 21v20-36. The Old Testament chronology also ended with the abomination that causes desolation — Daniel 11v21-35, and after that when the time was right Jesus came (his first coming).
The temple was finally destroyed in the Roman attack of 70AD which occurred late in the lives of Jesus’s own generation and marked the end of God’s signs in the ancient times.
The only sign given to a wicked and adulterous generation is the sign of Jonah (Mat 12v39) which is the sign of the cross, and which relates to the abomination that causes desolation through temple typology.
For the Church the coming judgement will end this earthly journey. It will involve real suffering when the final Antichrist appears, the man of lawlessness, and we shall be taken.
John 15v19v-20
“I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you.
Remember the words I spoke to you: 'No servant is greater than his master.' If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also.”
Thanks to Jesus, we who believe belong to the Kingdom of heaven, to the Jerusalem above which is free. We are being built into a holy temple (1 Peter 2v5), the house where God dwells. We have the Spirit as a deposit guaranteeing our citizenship in heaven.
We may already taste the good things to come, and are waiting to receive what is promised in full. In the meantime we continue in faith with hope and joy, sharing the good news about the perfection to come.
The mystery of God is revealed at the cross. We don’t speak much about the judgement to come, however the mysteries of God are revealed in Christ.
We are Israel. Together we are one body in Christ as Paul declares in Ephesians (below).
Ephesians 3v3-6
“the mystery made known to me by revelation…
… you will be able to understandmy insight into the mystery of Christ, which was not made known to men in other generations as it has now been revealed by God’s Spirit to God’s holy apostles and prophets. This mystery is that through the gospel the Gentiles are heirs together with Israel, members together of one body, and sharers together in the promise in Christ Jesus.”
Jesus reveals in Israel and in Himself that before the glories come the sufferings (1 Peter 1v11). This will be our testimony also.
1 Peter 1v10-11
“Concerning this salvation, the prophets, who spoke of the grace that was to come to you, searched intently and with the greatest care, trying to find out the time and circumstances to which the Spirit of Christ in them was pointing when he predected the sufferings of Christ and the glories that would follow.”
Revelation 10v6b-7
“There will be no more delay!
But in the days when the seventh angel is about to sound his trumpet, the mystery of God will be accomplished, just as he announced to his servants the prophets.”
The abomination that causes desolation ultimately describes a final judgement, the great tribulation, a humiliation and suffering, a great sacrifice to occur at the very end of the age immediately prior to the second coming of Jesus. Then, when Jesus appears we shall be saved.
Having been scattered we shall be regathered, and the dead will be raised. Having suffered we shall be glorified in Christ, obtaining the victory in full.
The Olivet discourse describes the abomination, the great suffering at the end, and there Jesus refers us to Daniel for more information, but the testimony of Jesus Himself is key.
The cross of Christ is central to our faith. The cross is the source of salvation thanks to Jesus Who fought the greatest battle and won the greatest victory. At the cross Jesus took our eternal punishment and revealed to us His power for the resurrection and the life to come. Our enemies are defeated, and soon sin and death will be destroyed.
The cross is the greatest focal point of prophecy and when our time comes we will stand by faith, not trusting in our own righteousness, but in that of Christ. So we follow Him even to the cross, while looking forward to the resurrection and the new creation. If we remain in Christ we will be with Him in glory.
The nations of the world are called the tools of God’s wrath and the final battle is called Armageddon. It is the abomination that causes desolation. We don’t fear men because the real enemy is sin, and our citizenship is in heaven. On the great and glorious Day of the Lord we will walk in the way of Christ scorning shame and humiliation, and crossing over from suffering to glory.
We who believe are called the Children of Abraham, the Israel of God, Jerusalem and Temple of God, so prophecy will ultimately be fulfilled in us. When Jesus comes to destroy His enemies we will be saved. The last enemy to be destroyed will be death itself.
If we persevere in the testimony Christ and remain obedient to His calling we will cross over from being corruptible to perfection, from great danger to perfect security, and from death to the joyful life promised for us in the new creation.
The message of the cross is most important, but at the present time, as we approach world war three, we need to study the birth, and the escape from calamity.
This message needs to be carefully considered, but due to the shortness of time please don’t wait. Act now to share this page with other biblically minded people who will be grateful for the opportunity to test these things too.
Very soon we will need to act to take care of our physical needs too, and God promises us a good escape, a safe delivery at this vulnerable time of birth.
The miracle of birth is an apocalyptic moment, and a powerful blessing from God. Many lives will be saved.

“The testimony of Jesus is the Spirit of prophecy” (Rev 19v10). I believe that the pattern of the life that Jesus lived will be the pattern for the final generation.
Prepare
As we see conflict beginning now, as predicted, it’s time to consider how to make the necessary preparations so that we will be able to care for each other. God has promised that He will help us make a successful escape, so lets act in faith!
