Modern Israel in Bible Prophecy
NOTE: I created this page a year or two before the war began. The diagram above appears in my 6th YouTube video published on 7th March 2023: “Israel, Iran and America. Patterns that Reveal Jesus in Bible Prophecy.” On October 7th 2023 we got the much expected one year warning when Hamas attacked Israel. As I write this update on 26th September 2024 we currently see a much bigger war with Hezbollah brewing in the North. Israel are coming to the end of their testimony, but we are coming to a global moment of birth. My focus is now on the seven week signs as we approach the climax.
——
The years 1948 and 2023 are important for Israel
In 1948 AM Abraham, the father of Israel was born. That was 1948 years after creation as recorded in Genesis.
More recently Modern Israel was re-born in 1948 AD. We have reasons to believe that these are signs from God (Isa 8v18).
At the age of 75, Abram received God’s call (Genesis 12v4). The year was 2023 AM, (1948+75=2023). For more information including a Genesis chronology timeline:
We have reasons to expect major end times events to begin in 2023 AD. But what should we be expecting? The answer is found in Jesus.
The purpose of prophecy is always to reveal Jesus
Through Jesus, God reveals the journey of salvation. It is a life long ‘testimony’.
“The testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.” — Rev 19v10
Modern Israel is in the process of unveiling a pattern of events that resembles the life of Jesus. The birth of Modern Israel in 1948 resembles the birth of Jesus where Hitler was the King Herod figure and the Holocaust was a slaughter of the innocent. A testimony has three main parts, and as we reach the year 2023, Israel's prophetic pattern is likely to be nearing completion:
A 'testimony' that reveals Jesus in three parts:
1. Modern Israel Born in 1948, like Jesus escaping the slaughter of the innocent, the holocaust of Word War Two.
2. Their life long journey as a small nation in the Middle East is now 75 years long, and probably nearing completion.
3. A moment of death and resurrection / conversion is expected next, and signs are suggesting it will begin around about 2023.
This is the prophetic pattern, a testimony that reveals Jesus.
The signs come first (Modern Israel), and then comes the reality for the whole world — which will be the birth and journey of the final generation. Similarly the gospel comes “to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.” — Romans 1v16, 2v9-10. The 'Greek' represents the gentile world.
When Israel reach the end of their testimony we will see the birth of the final generation which Jesus mentioned in Matthew 24v34.
The Dragon of War
Prophecy begins with a moment of birth which involves an encounter with the dragon as described in Revelation 12. For Jesus the dragon was King Herod representing Satan symbolically. Jesus’ escape represents the act of repentance. For Jesus who was perfect and without sin this act of repentance was purely symbolic.
We must be 'born again' which requires genuine repentance. We escape the power of sin and death when faith is put into action by repentance. This involves a flesh / spirit struggle. It is a real war and our escape from the dragon is made in spirit and truth beginning at the moment of 'new birth'.
When prophecy takes place apocalyptically we see outwardly visible events that have symbolic meaning. In this way prophetic events reveal the life of Jesus typologically, and beginning with a moment of birth.
Hitler was the ‘dragon’, or ‘King Herod’ figure as the modern nation of Israel was born. Many Jews survived the slaughter of the innocent, but six million Jews were killed during the Holocaust. That was more than a third of the all Jews in the world. A third of the people of the whole world will die during the birth pains of the final generation — world war three (Rev 9v15).
As world war two was coming to an end Hitler died on April 30, 1945, and 1111 days later the modern nation of Israel was born, on May 14, 1948. The birth of the final generation out of world war three is expected to bring a great awakening, a revival, like a Pentecost moment. Then a powerful end times ministry will begin.
The Modern state of Israel has lived a good life, and inspired many Christians to study prophecy, a kind of life and ministry. But they have been the subject of more resolutions from the UN (United Nations) than any other nation in the world. Jesus also lived during a time of world government, in the days of the Roman Empire.
The life and ministry of Jesus was more than 30 years. The early church continued the ministry for about another 40 years in Israel, until 70 AD. Altogether that testimony spanned about 75 years.
As mentioned, Abram was 75 years old when God called him in 2023 AM, and this year, 2023 AD will be the 75th anniversary for Modern Israel.
The journey of life isn’t always 75 years, of course. It varies in length from case to case because it is not for us to know when Jesus will return, just as we don't know the length of our lives. However Moses said, “The length of our days is 70 years, or 80 if we have strength.” — Psalm 90v10. So 75 years is perfectly within that range.
In Old Testament times prophecy was fulfilled within the following symbolically meaningful time periods:
Moses was 80 years old at the time of the Exodus.
Israel had 40 years in the wilderness,
and 70 years in Babylon.
Four generations lived in Canaan from Abraham to Jacob,
Four generations lived in Egypt (Gen 15v16).
Even today we often see families have four living generations.
Jesus says, “This generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened.” — Mat 24v34.
So how long will the testimony of Modern Israel be?
As we look at the example of their father Abraham, we have reasons to expect the journey of Modern Israel might be about 75 years, reaching an endpoint in about the year 2023, an abomination that causes desolation as will be further explained.
To explain why I suggest that events around about the year 2023 will resemble a moment of death to Modern Israel, we need to look at the example of Abraham, because God reveals a special sign in Abraham’s life.
The Importance of Abraham
Abraham’s life is particularly important because he was the father of Israel.
It is remarkable that Modern Israel was born in the same year that Abraham (or Abram) was born when comparing the years AM with AD. Many people are unaware that Abram was born in the Jewish year 1948 AM. That is 1948 years after creation as seen when adding up the years in Genesis 5 and 11.
This fact is demonstrated and explained on the following two pages:
Abraham’s Prophecy
6000 Years
Abram was 75 years old when God called him (Gen 12v4), and the Jewish year was 1948 + 75 = 2023 AM.
We should be prayerfully alert to the possibility that our end times journey could begin in the modern year 2023 AD.
The End of Modern Israel will be a Birth for us
Abram’s life spanned two prophetic patterns, as did Moses. Abram’s life in his Father’s household came to an end in 2023 AM, but a new life began as he responded in faith to the call of God. It was the end of one life, and the beginning of a much more significant journey.
Similarly the gospel comes in two phases, “to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.” — Romans 1v16, 2v9-10. The 'Greek' represents the gentile world.
Today we can consider the end of the signs in Modern Israel in about 2023, and the beginning of a real end times journey for all of us. In this way prophecy involves two testimonies, or 'two witnesses.’
Prophetic testimonies often come two by two in the Old Testament, connected at the centre where they share a common event. The exodus is an example of a central event, and the destruction of the temple by the Babylonians is another.
The end of the signs in Modern Israel will be a focal point as the real end times journey begins for us. This pattern is illustrated in the diagram at the top of the page.
According to the pattern of life, the endpoint for Modern Israel will be a kind of abomination that causes desolation. A death and resurrection moment. World war three is expected - a conflict on the scale of Noah’s flood with pollution that could resemble the curse of Canaan, or original sin.
We don’t normally know the time of death and resurrection, but we may have an exception in Modern Israel as it connects with a greater moment of birth for the world. For prophetic purposes the length of Biblical patterns were often revealed ahead of time, and Modern Israel is likewise an important sign with real prophetic significance as we are now approaching the real end times journey of the final generation.
Birth however happens on time by nature, and we currently have clear signs of birth such as the Revelation 12 sign of 2017. When two patterns occur in sequence the end of first pattern coincides with the birth of the next.
Birth comes with clear signs, and it generally happens on time. The signs we are seeing are pointing to a moment in about the year 2024, so there should be a moment of death to Modern Israel around this time too, or possibly the year before.
Abram experienced a Chiasm of birth pains as illustrated in Abraham's Prophecy, and he found himself living as a stranger and an alien in the land of Canaan.
The land of Canaan was the land of the one ‘cursed’ by Noah. The journey of life in Canaan was difficult for Abram, but full of hope and expectation.
Looking For Confirmation
Confirmation will come if we see the war of Daniel 11v36-44 beginning as described here:
Daniel 11 End Times War
The war of Daniel 11v36-44 begins a special pattern of events for the final generation that will conclude with the second coming of Jesus (Daniel 12v1-3).
This prophecy follows on from a similar pattern of events described for ancient Israel in the first 35 verses of Daniel 11.
In short, the end times war in Dan 11v36-44 is believed to describe an American invasion of the Middle East. The war moves from north to south at the time of the end, and is expected to begin with Netanyahu in Israel (the south) engaging Iran (the north), and America (He) will support Israel. The war will spread like a ‘flood’. (Dan 11v40).
Jordan will escape (Dan 11v41). Jordan is an American ally. Therefore this war is expected to be an American conquest.
The war will go through the “beautiful land” (v41). A moment of death may be seen in Modern Israel at verse 41 and / or at verse 44.
War will spread onwards, south to Egypt, Libya and Nubia (Dan 11v42 - 43).
The climax of this war is reached in Daniel 11v44, and according to a powerful vision that God gave me in 2015, it will be with the second coming of Donald Trump. The climax is not the end of the world, but it is the end of this war, and I call it, “The King Herod Moment” — a nuclear war between the world’s superpowers.
The language of verse 44 resembles the circumstances at the birth of Jesus as “reports from the east and the north will alarm him, and he will set out in a great rage to destroy and annihilate many.”
When Jesus was little it was the wise men who came from the east with reports that alarmed King Herod. Jesus escaped, so I am optimistic that believers in Jesus will be blessed to escape this conflict — if we are ready for action, and prepared to look after each other.
Therefore I am calling for a coordinated Christian effort to do everything possible to prepare so that with God's help we will be able to save the lives of as many people as possible, because this war will not be the end of the world (Mat 24v6).
My expectation is that the end of this chapter of Modern Israel will coincide with the birth of the final generation, and that we will be blessed to begin living the life story of Jesus in a real life symbolic journey.
Signs / Symbolism / and Repentance
The signs come first: Modern Israel. We are now looking for the end of that pattern.
After the signs are complete (in Modern Israel) we will see a world wide apocalyptic journey that again serves to reveal Jesus.
However, the real journey of salvation begins with repentance when we come into relationship with Jesus. Then repentance continues as we follow Jesus in spirit and truth.
As we currently see world war three beginning, we can expect to see both the end of the Modern Israel pattern, and the beginning of the ultimate prophetic journey to be lived by the final generation.
The apocalyptic journey of the final generation will resemble the life of Jesus. So lets get ready for a King Herod moment of destruction in the world (nuclear war) with life saving acts of repentance, and an end times journey of a life-time.
God does miracles to keep his family safe at the vulnerable time of birth. We don’t need to fear world war three. If we are ready to take care of each other we will be blessed to escape a slaughter of the innocent. Then prophecy will continue to progress according to the pattern of the life of Jesus as revealed throughout the Bible in typological stories.
Much more could be said, and is said else where on this website, but most important is our spiritual journey, because that is the only one that will matter in the end.
When the fulfilment of prophecy involves real world events, such events have great symbolic significance as their purpose is to point to Christ.
It doesn’t matter whether or not we are personally involved in prophetic end times events. If we live during the time of the final generation we will be involved because these will be world wide events, but the only journey that really matters is the spiritual journey, and our personal relationship with Jesus.
Even a world wide fulfilment of prophecy in the last days will have great symbolic significance, but we need to fulfil prophecy in spirit and truth.
Our spiritual journey begins when we put our faith in Jesus and turn in repentance to follow him.
Jesus’ escape from King Herod can be seen as a symbolic act of repentance. He was perfect and had no need to repent, but it is revealed symbolically as an escape from the dragon or Satan (Rev 12).
We escape the power of sin and death as we put off the old man and put on the new. We put to death the sinful nature through repentance. Jesus demonstrated this symbolically as he waited in Egypt for King Herod to die.
For Jews in the 19th century, waiting for Hitler to die was a painful process, but out of that war came the miraculous birth of Modern Israel, (as already mentioned — 1111 days after Hitler died). The symbolism is powerful — repentance.
God will do miracles for us as we reach another moment of repentance, and this one will be less symbolic to us. We need real and genuine repentance.
As we see the war clouds continuing to gather and hear the warning trumpets sound we must consider the kind of exodus that God wants us to make. “Out of Egypt I call my son.” — Mat 2v15
To live in obedience to God in a world that is pursuing every sinful desire of the flesh in rebellion to God, there reaches a point when he calls us to come out to be separate, and a holy people literally, in an apocalyptic sense. “Come out of her my people…” — Rev 18v4.
It appears that the time has come for apocalyptic repentance. So lets do it with all our hearts to the very best of our ability so that we may be the voice in the wilderness preparing the way for the Lord.
As we hear the call to make an exodus, lets also take the opportunity to help as many people as possible to escape the destruction of world war three. It is always our duty to care for those in need, and saving lives from the destruction caused by world war three will bring great glory to God for the advancement of the gospel.
As we hear God’s call lets recognise that it is Jesus we are following, and we must follow him in spirit and truth. By doing so we fulfil prophecy not just symbolically, but in reality.
Nuclear war will require our full attention, and if we respond appropriately it will serve to strengthen our focus on living in obedience to Jesus, so that we may continue the ministry of the gospel until the great commission is compete.
In the more distant future, as the journey of the final generation eventually comes to an end we can expect one last great moment of the cross, and then Jesus will return.
At the end of his life Jesus submitted himself to death on the cross.
When our end comes we also will face the ultimate struggle, a moment of great tribulation, death and resurrection (Heb 9v27). For the final generation, those who are still living at the very end can expect a significant persecution when the final antichrist appears, but all who are in Christ will Cross 2 Victory.
The testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.” — Revelation 19v10.
At the end — Jesus suffered, died, and rose again. Therefore we who are in Christ will also.
If we remain faithful to the end, sharing even in the sufferings of Christ, we will share in his glory when he comes.
Prophecy Reveals Jesus
The way God reveals Jesus in prophecy is illustrated on the following two pages:
God’s Plan
The Chiasm of World History
The above two pages explores the way prophecy appears as a life cycle of symbolic events resembling the birth, life, death and resurrection of Jesus.
The pattern of Modern Israel can be expected to resemble the life of Jesus just as we have seen in the past.
So far events in Modern Israel are indeed following the pattern of the life of Christ. Now as we are reaching the end of the pattern we can expect events in Modern Israel very soon to resemble a moment of death and resurrection.
As we come into a time of war we hope and pray that many Jewish people will put their faith in Jesus and become followers of him.
The Pentecost moment at the birth of the final generation will likely see a further breaking down of the dividing wall of hostility between Jew and gentile as many Jewish worshippers accept Jesus as their Lord and saviour, and we are made one in Christ.
