It's 23rd May 2024 and we are now only four months from the seventh anniversary of the Revelation 12 sign of 2017 and events are now moving quickly towards the end times birth. Israel having began their operation against Hamas in Rafa are facing world wide condemnation and their enemies are plotting their destruction. Many Christians believe that Israel is coming into their time of 'Jacob's trouble' which may also be called, 'a moment of the cross'.
The International Criminal Court is seeking arrest warrents for Israel's top leaders in a move that resembles the last days of the ministry of Jesus before he was arrested and crucified. But why must the nation of Israel face a moment of the cross?

End times Bible prophecy to reveal a greater birth.
Many Christians believe that Israel is fulfilling Bible prophecy in these last days, and I agree, but what is coming next? Some are waiting for the rapture, but I contend that the ultimate purpose of the modern nation of Israel will be for a resemblance of the mystery of the death and resurrection of Christ to once again be put on public display in an outwardly visible form so that the work of the gospel may be greatly empowered among all who believe. A great awakening, a world wide revival and the out pouring of God's Spirit is coming so that the work of the gospel may be brought to completion during the journey of the next and final generation.
When Jesus was taken his disciples thought their end had come, so likewise when end times events begin unfolding many will genuinely think the end is apon us, but consider this pattern: When Jesus was taken the Spirit was sent and the church was born on Pentecost. A more powerful ministry began. Likewise the end times birth will involve a difficult moment for Israel, and even a world wide conflict in which birth pains will grip the whole world, but 'afterwards' (Joel 2v28) a more powerful ministry will begin for all God's people, both Jewish and Gentile believers alike.
The purpose of Biblical prophecy is always to reveal the gospel of Jesus which focuses on the miracle of spiritual new birth, and the new life that we who believe already have through faith in Christ Jesus. Gospel prophecy focuses on the transition from the old fleshly life to the new spiritual life, and so in this way prophecy takes the form of two witnesses, or two 'lived testimonies'. The current life of the nation of Israel will be seen as purely fleshly 'afterwards', when seen in light of the great outpouring of God's spirit – after the end times 'birth'.
A key verse is Revelation 19v10: “The testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.” Rev 1v1-2, 1 John 5v6-12 are similar. As 'lived testimonies' these may be seen as complete birth – life – death & resurrection patterns. The fleshly pattern always comes first through physical birth, and then by God's grace we see that we are offered spiritual new birth into Christ we act in repentance to put to death the desires of the flesh. The old self must die so that we may live a new life in Christ.
In prophecy patterns of two witnesses relate to each other as flesh relates to spirit, so the first is only the forerunner. The promises of God come through the second birth. In Old Testament times we often see that a second born son carries the lineage of Jesus.
Patterns of two witnesses are seen in tag team ministries in which a forerunner foreshadows a subsequent more powerful ministry. So John the Baptist was followed by Jesus, or Elijah was followed by Elisha. In Moses' example he struck the rock twice having two complete birth – life – death patterns that resembled the life of Christ, the first during the time of slavery in Egypt until the Exodus, and the second was the journey from Egypt to the promised land.
Of key interest in all these patterns is the transition from the first ministry to the second because today we are again standing at a transtion point in history. The modern nation of Israel is coming to the end of their testimony, and we have powerful signs of birth. The Revelation 12 sign of 2017 is one of the greatest signs of the end times birth. The end cannot be predicted, but when a birth is coming the signs are always clear, and we understand the need to prepare. The end times birth will be a world wide event. A woman calculates her due date with a reasonable degree of accuracy, so likewise, given the signs we see today I expect the end times birth to come in about the latter part of 2024.
The struggle of the end times birth will manifest as WW3 which will be symbolic for the spiritual war of repentance. This is a fearce war, a fight to the death in which we must take up the cross and put to death the sinful nature. True prophets live out prophecy, so we saw Elijah taken in horses and chariots of fire, and then the Spirit was poured out on Elisha who began by re-enacting the Exodus. In the original exodus Moses led the Israelites through the sea to bring to birth the ancient nation of Israel. At that time the Israelites broke free from their slavery in Egypt to give us a symbolic act of repentance. We follow in spirit and truth when we turn to follow Jesus, breaking free from slavery to sin when we are baptised into Christ. They were “baptised into Moses in the cloud and the sea.” – 1 Corinthians 10v2.
In all these examples we see that the transition from the first witness to the second involves the frightening scene of 'blood, fire and vapour of smoke,' as described in Acts 2 on the day of Pentecost. At that time the death and resurrection of Christ brought to birth the first generation of the church. Today we have another prophecy now in progress: Israel have returned miraculously, after 2000 years way, now being regathered to their homeland so that prophecy may be fulfilled once more. Now as the generation that saw the birth if Israel 'after' WW2 is passing away their prophetic prophecy is due to reach completion. However, many who are watching do not yet understand is that a second testimony lies ahead for all of us, that is for the surviving remenant who come through the birth pains of WW3 – successfully, as promised by God.
There will be no secret pre-tribulation rapture of Christians into heaven. Prophecy must be fulfilled in us just as it was always fulfilled in God's people during ancient times. The modern nation of Israel have for the last 75 years being playing the role of the first witness, so now as they reach the moment of the cross we must prepare for a greater birth. From now on we will all be involved in the fulfillment of prophecy. The events of Daniel 11v36-44 now unfolding in the Middle East are leading to a 'King Herod' moment of destruction in which a nuclear third world war will be symbolic for the war of repentance. By God's miracle he leads his people to make an exodus at just the right moment, so in great numbers Jewish and Gentile believers alike will live, and we will be greatly blessed to begin the more powerful ministry of the second witness.
Please be alert to the events Biblical moments of Birth. First blood must be shed. Many passover lambs will be sacrificed in Israel, and maybe also Washington and elsewhere. We will see it as an abomination that causes desolation as powerful nations, especially Iran, Egypt and others come against Israel in a united attack. It will be a Gog Magog moment. From a fleshly perspective it will be a moment of the cross, and in our modern context given Iran's capabilities the weapons will be nuclear. When Elijah was taken Elisha performed an exodus, and he received a double portion of the Spirit, so likewise, when the modern nation of Israel is taken we will know that it's time to make an exodus from the cities so that we may escape the King Herod moment of destruction that WW3 will bring. God is with us so we needn't fear.
Jesus told us these things are coming and he told us not to fear the kind of war that takes place between the nations of this world. However we must be alert and ready for action so that we will be able to care for each other, and as many people as possible. God shelters his family at vulnerable times of birth so that those walking by faith may be blessed to escape the hour of trial that is coming to test all those who live on earth. Then we will live to fulfil a more powerful ministry which lies ahead of us and of the final generation. When the work of the great commission is finally completed we will also complete the ultimate pattern of prophecy according to the testimony of Jesus, and in doing so we will reach the destination. This world will pass away but Jesus brings his people safely into the promised land of the new creation which is to be revealed from heaven when Jesus returns.
