Revelation 12v3: “And another sign appeared in heaven: behold, a great red dragon…”
“And there was war…” (v7).
A major Eclipse Reversal of Biblical proportions occurred in 2015 when to the surprise of astronomers the entire system of eclipses begun to mirror. Solar and lunar eclipses all appear to have reversed - both chronologically and geometrically, with stunning precision and beauty.
The day of reversal was the 5th January 2015 and the pattern is seen spanning thousands of years. It continues with no end in sight.
The eclipse maps below are arranged in chronological order extending from 2014 into the past on the left side, and from 2015 into the future on the right showing the first 40 pairs of symmetrical eclipses.
The scientific cause of the phenomenon is now understood but its religious significance is most impressive.
What caused the reversal? Eclipse cycles provide the answer. The Saros and the Inex cycles interact in a special way to produce the pattern.
What does the reversal mean? There is religious significance: The Inex cycle has exactly 777 draconic months.
This suggests “God's Dragon”.
The timing of the reversal on 5th January, 2015 was Epiphany Eve, suggesting an “appearance.”

The Eclipse Reversal
The orbital parameters most important to eclipse, and the most beautiful eclipse cycle, the Saros all reached points of symmetry simultaneously during the full moon of 5th January 2015, in a once in nearly 7000 year event.
The eclipse reversal happened at Perihelion in 2015, when the earth was at its closest to the sun. Two Saros series, the most beautiful of the eclipse cycles were at their peaks with eclipses happening near to aphelion, which is when the earth is furthest from the sun.
While similar arrangements occur 12 or 24 times during a 7000 year period, the Biblical Blood Moon Tetrad at the centre of the phenomenon made this a truly unique event, while adding a fascinating layer of religious significance.
The pattern is an interaction between two key eclipse cycles. The Inex has caused the apparent reversal of the Saros.
Introducing a few terms:
Perihelion is the closest point that the earth comes to the sun - due to having a slightly elliptical orbit.
An Eclipse cycle is a regular time interval at which eclipses often occur. Many different eclipse cycles are known.
An Eclipse series is an uninterrupted sequence of eclipses belonging to a certain eclipse cycle.
The Inex and Saros are perhaps the two most important eclipse cycles:
Inex cycle - 29 years less 20 days
Inex series are very long, approaching immortality!
Saros cycle- 18 years plus 11 days
Saros series often continue for 70 or 80 cycles
There are many other eclipse cycles and series, but the Inex and Saros have a special relationship.
The Inex is like the ‘King’ of eclipse cycles because it provides order to the Saros series.
Saros series are difficult to arrange into correct order. It was much debated until the 1950s when their relationship with the Inex was discovered, and then the problem was solved.
A numbering system was established and the Saros series were arranged into order according to how they relate to the Inex cycle.
The Saros is the most beautiful and well known, the ‘Queen' of eclipse cycles.
The Inex appears to have reversed the Saros producing a beautiful mirroring effect.
The Saros now reflect each other from perihelion in 2015 when the earth was closest to the sun, and all the important cycles were at a symmetrical midpoint.
God and Dragon
The Inex has a very perfect rhythm which makes him superior to other eclipse cycles: as King of the eclipse cycles, the Inex runs exactly in sync with the draconic month.
The draconic month is the quickest kind of month, outpacing the standard lunar month by more than 2 days. Draconic months are 27.2 days. They are measured from the “ascending node” which is the point in the moon’s orbit where the moon crosses the plane of the earth's orbit, which is called the ecliptic.
There are two draconic nodes just as eclipses may be solar or lunar.
A full Inex cycle is precisely 777 draconic months which is nearly 58 years. The amazing accuracy in the timing of his rhythm is what makes the Inex ‘King’ of the eclipse cycles, giving him great power.
Christians may observe that ‘777 draconic months’ suggests: “God’s dragon.”
God’s symbolic number of perfection and completion is 777.
The harmony in the Inex eclipse cycle with the draconic month is especially accurate. (God is perfect.) No other eclipse cycle has such a precise harmony. But it is an additional wonder that this harmony is at 777 draconic months exactly, having both God’s perfection, and God’s symbolic number.
Astronomers record the Inex as a cycle of 388.5 draconic months or 29 years less 20 days, which is only half of the full 777 month cycle. Therefore it finishes at the opposite draconic node. (Hence the 388.5 months ends with a “point 5”, or half the monthly orbit). At this measure two Inex are required to complete a full cycle.
Due to the perfect harmony in the Inex, it’s series extend onwards through time with an enduring quality of immortality.
Other eclipse cycles produce shorter series of eclipses having only limited life spans. Their series are born and they live for a period, and then die.
Tiny secular changes in the moon’s orbit are slowly inching the Inex cycle even closer to a truly perfect harmony with 777 draconic months. “Secular” is a technical term in astronomy meaning extremely small, long term changes.
The divine Inex moves in groups of three, having three persons like Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Astronomers call the resulting Trinity eclipse cycle the “Triad”.
Triads display many of the same divine qualities of the Inex because a Triad is simply three consecutive Inex cycles combined.
The Inex and Triad are unique among eclipse cycles. Their perfection allows their series to extend onward almost indefinitely, and with secular changes they are growing exponentially longer — towards having eternal life.
The special relationship between the Inex and Saros allows a formula to be used for describing other eclipse cycles in terms of various multiples of Saros and Inex cycles.
The Inex and Saros can be used to produce an eclipse matrix which is known as “The Saros - Inex Panorama”.
The Saros - Inex Panorama was discovered in the 1950’s. It forms a complete table of eclipses in which the Inex determines the correct order and timing of the Saros series. The Inex solved the problem of how to order the Saros — which now appears to have reversed.
As King of the eclipse cycles, the Inex is named “In - ex” because he determines the in-coming of new Saros, and the ex-it of the old, as her series of eclipses are born and die. Just as the Inex determines the order of the Saros series, the Inex is also responsible for the apparent reversal.
A Saros Study
Beautiful but Sinful
Saros eclipse series have limited longevity, but are proven mathematically to exist eternally in either the active or dormant state. She continues to exist even after her series of eclipses have expired. She operates on a 7000 year super cycle which has 12 parts. Her beautiful rhythms are brought to light in a Saros study produced by a mathematician and computer scientist as referenced later in this article.
The Saros cycle has been known for thousands of years. It is an 18 year 11 day cycle. Saros cycles are based on the prime number of 223 lunar months, as measured from one Saros eclipse to the next across 18 year intervals.
Saros series are family groups of very geometrically similar eclipses. Unbroken chains of 70 or 80 eclipses continue at 223 month intervals, or 18 years plus 11 days, and due to having several additional harmonies in her rhythm she produces especially beautiful sequences of eclipses.
It is intriguing that the total number of Saros series born, living and dying during the 7000 year super cycle is also proven to be 223 series! The same prime number appears twice, seen firstly in her underlying rhythm of months per 18 year cycle, and then also on the large scale with 223 series per 7000 year super cycle.
The beauty of the Saros is due to additional rhythms in her cycle, including with the anomalistic month and solar year, but in contrast to the Inex, she fails at one crucial point.
The Saros has an inferior relationship to the draconic month, and that is sinful.
The failure of any other rhythm wouldn’t cause such serious consequences, but her degree of error with the draconic month leads to death. After 70 or 80 eclipses her series ends and she then lies dormant for thousands of years — until being reborn according to her 7000 year super cycle.
Christians may see symbolic meaning. The 7000 years corresponds to Biblical history and our lives are on average 70 or 80 years (Ps 90v10).
Like the beautiful Saros, mankind is the pinnacle of God’s creation, and those who believe look forward to the great rebirth at the end of the age, the ultimate resurrection from the dead.
God is our King, and He is the standard of perfection that we will be measured against on judgement day. Like the Inex, God’s Biblical number is 777, and He determines the time and places in which we live. As for us, messing with the dragon always results in death, and as sinners we all die.
Life has some testing times, and this is revealed numerically. For example a series of 70 Saros eclipses continues at 18 year intervals and produces a family of eclipses having a life span of about 1260 years (70 x 18 = 1260). At any one time about 40 different families of Saros series are living and active together, all at various different stages of their life cycle.
The numbers 40 and 1260 represents testing times in the wilderness according to prophecy (Rev 12v6), especially in regard to the final period leading up to the end of the age.
The Dragon
In eclipse astronomy we see the Inex and Saros cycles revealing truths about God and mankind, but we also see the dragon.
The dragon is highly involved in eclipse astronomy. The power of the dragon is revealed in his two shadowy draconic nodes which are the places of eclipse during an alignment with the sun. Except for the immortal Inex who holds his ground, the dragon brings all other eclipse series to their death as they slip through the node and disappear on the other side.
The 27.2 day draconic month is shorter than a regular 29.5 day lunar month and is based on the time required for the moon to make its circuit as measured from the ascending draconic node. From that node the moon moves up as far as 5 degrees above and then back down crossing to 5 degrees below the ecliptic - which is the plane of the earth’s orbit around the sun.
The draconic month has been named after the dragon since ancient times because when in alignment with the sun, eclipses occur in the darkness, or glare of his two draconic nodes which are located on the ecliptic, one on each side of the earth.
In Scripture the dragon is another name for Satan, or the devil (Rev 12v9). He is a slippery and deceitful creature often depicted as having two powerful horns, and he leads people astray. Our error is called sin. As with eclipse cycles, when we fall out of sync and miss the mark, it’s only a matter of time until our degree of error (or sin) leads to death.
Not only are we as individuals subjected to death and decay, but this whole creation has limited time. A definite end of all things is approaching, and then we will meet our Creator.
God provides warning, and we will all face judgement, but in Christ there is salvation.
Perihelion
The eclipse reversal phenomenon reveals that we have just crossed a primary starting / ending point in the 7000 year super cycle where all the major variables aligned at top dead centre. The point of reflection is located precisely at a mid-point between symmetrical pairs of Saros series, and it also coincides with perihelion.
Perihelion is key to the quality of the eclipse reversal’s pattern symmetry. Due to the earth’s slightly elliptical or oval shaped orbit, perihelion is the point where in early January the earth makes its closest approach to the sun.
While many other reversal patterns have been identified and catalogued, the January 2015 reflection is extremely rare, having a mirroring effect of the highest possible quality within the 7000 year super cycle of Saros series.
On the 5th of January 2015 the peaks of two Saros series were located equidistant on either side of perihelion. This makes everything mirror from perihelion.
Perihelion with it’s close proximity to the sun may be likened to the place of God’s judgement and salvation.
What does this Mean?
In past times many cultures and peoples have seen eclipses as potentially ominous signs from God, so this unexpected reversal pattern raises the question - does it mean something? Those who accept the Bible as God's word have many reasons to believe this phenomenon does indeed contain a message.
Deep religious significance is seen in the eclipse reversal pattern, both in the circumstances and also the cause of the phenomenon. The message of the eclipse reversal is especially profound when the associated scientific terms and values are considered in a Biblical context, but the circumstances of the eclipse reversal are also very remarkable with regard to the calendar.
The Circumstances
The eclipse reversal of January 2015 centres on the well known Biblical Blood Moon Tetrad of 2014 and 2015. An eclipse Tetrad consists of four total lunar eclipses in a row and occurs on average 2 or 3 times per century, but this Tetrad is special. All four eclipses occurred on Jewish holy days, which sparked a lot of interest in various parts of the Christian community.
The eclipse reversal pattern centres on this group of four total lunar eclipses that occurred on Passover and Tabernacles in 2014, and Passover and Tabernacles again in 2015. In Hebrew these Jewish festivals are called, “moedim” which means “appointed times.”
The Festivals were fulfilled by Jesus when He first came, and they remain important to us. The festivals are especially relevant to the end times, and prophecies relating to Jesus' return.
The circumstances of the eclipse reversal serve to draw our attention to God's plans as revealed in the holy days of Israel. But even greater religious significance is seen in the actual calendar day of the eclipse reversal in 2015.
The Christ Child Generation
The day of eclipse reversal has important religious significance in keeping with the surrounding tetrad of eclipses that occurred on Jewish holy days. The day of eclipse reversal, the 5th January 2015 fell on Epiphany eve.
Epiphany means, “appearance”.
On the 12th day of Christmas we traditionally remember the appearance of Jesus, as the Son of God, to the world.
Epiphany eve is the day of preparation for the 12th day of Christmas. Traditionally on Epiphany eve Christians pause to remember the great heavenly sign that occurred 2000 years ago, the Star of Bethlehem. In ancient times the wise men followed that star to the new born Christ child.
Today heavenly signs are again being observed, and how fitting that this one should coincide with the remembrance of the last one that signalled the birth of Jesus. Of course many believers increasingly anticipate Jesus’s return.
I believe it is time to consider the birth or Epiphany of the final generation. The ‘Christ child generation’ being all those of the final generation who are anointed to serve the Lord in the last days, potentially until He returns.
Jesus's own birth reveals the birth of the final generation because “the testimony of Jesus is the Spirit of prophecy” (Rev 19v10b).

The birth of the final generation is more clearly signalled by another, otherwise unrelated astronomical event — the Revelation 12 sign of 23rd September 2017. That heavenly sign depicts the birth of God’s child and is believed to be of great importance as discussed on the web page called, God's Plan.
The eclipse reversal confirms the wondrous sign of Revelation 12 concerning the birth of God’s child. The tetrad of eclipses on Jewish holy days brings attention to God’s appointed times, and the focus on Epiphany eve suggests an important “appearance“ in keeping with the story of the birth and Epiphany of Christ Jesus.
However as we consider the birth of the Christ child generation of the last days there is something else to consider. Something important. As the story goes, God’s child is born into a calamity.
The 777 draconic months of the Inex causing the Saros to reflect on Epiphany eve 2015 suggests, ‘The appearance of God’s dragon’.
The eclipse reversal occurred at Perihelion, the closest point to the sun, and that signals God’s judgement, but first God provides warning. This is why God’s dragon makes an appearance. Perhaps his chains and loosened a little.
The prophetic story of the birth of God’s child warns of great conflict brought about with the appearance of the dragon. At a very young age Jesus escaped King Herod and Moses escaped from Pharaoh. Jesus’ life story is prophetic to the story of final generation of God’s people.
God’s word gives promises of special protection to the family of his people, so we can be reassured. When chaos comes God remains in charge, and we will live by faith. God’s people will be “called out”, called to live holy and obedient lives in the last days, according to the testimony of Jesus.
The birth pains to come will be felt world wide, but if we rely on God we need not fear because God is with his people. I believe these things signal not the end so much as the beginning of the great drama of the last days.
Then Another Sign Appeared In Heaven
In the opening verses of Revelation 12 the pregnant woman of God gives birth to God's child in terrible circumstances, but with divine help. That sign is believed by millions of Christians to have taken place on 23rd September 2017 as presented on the page called, signs.
God's Dragon (Rev 12v3)
On the afternoon of Epiphany eve in 2015, perfectly centred in a Tedrad of blood red moons occurring on Jewish holy days, the entire system of eclipses reversed. This event clearly has all the hallmarks of a heavenly sign.
The cosmic birth of God's heavenly child in Revelation 12 is overshadowed in verse 3 by another more ominous heavenly sign; the appearance of the enormous red dragon.
Revelation 12v1-5
“A great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet and a crown of twelve stars on her head. 2 She was pregnant and cried out in pain as she was about to give birth. 3 Then another sign appeared in heaven: an enormous red dragon with seven heads and ten horns and seven crowns on its heads. 4 Its tail swept a third of the stars out of the sky and flung them to the earth. The dragon stood in front of the woman who was about to give birth, so that it might devour her child the moment he was born.”
The scientific cause of the eclipse reversal is very revealing with regard to the “enormous red dragon” of this second sign (v3).
Understanding the cause of the eclipse reversal phenomenon focuses our attention on scientific terms that have rich symbolic meaning of religious significance.
God's Throne Room
Eclipses are a beautiful display of God's power in creation, but the meaning that they contain goes far beyond this world. Understanding the celestial mechanics of eclipse astronomy is a little like looking through a window into the machine room of heaven, and even higher, into throne room of God.
The various cyclical components, their order and rhythms match what is described of God's war chariot.
God's war chariot is described in Ezekiel 1 and 10, and His throne room of worship is presented in Revelation chapter 4. We will consider the details of their resemblance to eclipse astronomy in due course.
When the scientific facts are examined and interpreted from a Biblical point of view, we see that the eclipse reversal is very meaningful. We will consider how the structure and design of eclipse astronomy resembles the throne room of God, but the 777 draconic months of the Inex eclipse cycle holds the key to the eclipse reversal phenomenon. It signals:
“The appearance of the Dragon in God's Throne Room.”
The dragon was defeated 2000 years ago at the cross, and many understand that he was thrown into the Abyss at that time to prevent him from deceiving the nations any more until the time of the end. His reappearance now, especially at such a sensitive time while God's children are still being born into the Kingdom of God can only mean one thing: WAR
Continuing with our reading of Revelation 12, we are up to verse 7:
“And there was war in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought back. But he was not strong enough, and they lost their place in heaven. The great dragon was hurled down – that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him.”
This war is fought on a cosmic scale. What happens in heaven is reflected on earth.
It has happened many times in the past in the nation of Israel because as Isaiah said, “We are signs and symbols in Israel from the Lord Almighty” (Isa 8v18).
Jesus gave us the greatest fulfilment of eternal significance, but not since the days of Noah's flood or Joseph's famine have these things been fulfilled on a truely global scale.
For us today these signs are believed to signal world war three, but don't be alarmed, God is with us. There will be wars and rumours of wars but the end is still to come. It is not the end yet. We are not considering the death but the birth of the final generation.
Consider the testimony of Jesus:
Jesus was born into a calamity as King Herod was killing God's children, and at that time the dragon attacked… and failed. Later conflict raged again at the cross and this time the dragon was defeated, but is not yet destroyed. Satan’s destruction awaits the appointed time of the end.
The testimony of Jesus is the Spirit of prophecy. As it was in Jesus' day, so it will be for the final generation of God's children in the last days. The great crisis at the birth of the final generation will be world war three as described in Daniel 11v36-45, especially v44, and much of Revelation 6, 8 and 9. We are facing the initial battle of the last days. Call it “God's warning Trump”. I believe the final battle of the last days remains a lifetime away. The final battle is the crisis of the cross, or the battle of Armageddon. It will come after 40 years of wilderness wanderings, or 70 years of world government in Babylon the Great.
This generation won't pass away until all these things have happened. This understanding comes by studying the pattern of prophecy which is revealed in the great stories of Scripture. These patterns were lived out and fulfilled by Jesus Himself, as outlined on the web page called, “God's Plan”.
Planned Since Creation
When God created the sun, moon and the stars on the fourth day of creation He said, “and let them serve as signs to mark seasons and days and years,” (Gen 1v14b).
Psalm 19v2 “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge.”
Luke said, “There will be signs in the sun, moon and stars...” at the end of the age, (Luke 21v25).
Therefore as surprising as this eclipse reversal phenomenon is, we have been told to expect such things. Many Christians believe that we are living in the end times, and are anticipating the fulfilment of ancient prophecy, so the Eclipse Reversal sign is of great interest.
To better appreciate the eclipse reversal phenomenon, including its message about the appearance of God's dragon, we require a basic knowledge of eclipse astronomy. We must do some work.
Understanding the Eclipse Reversal
Eclipse cycles and series, hold the key to understanding both the cause and meaning of the reversal phenomenon.
The Saros cycle has been known since ancient times and is the most beautiful of eclipse cycles.
The Inex cycle was only named in the 1950's. It produces the longest series of eclipses and gives order to the Saros. It also marks the beginning and end of Saros series, hence the name, In - ex. (In coming and exiting).
Eclipse “cycles” are simply regular time intervals at which related eclipses usually occur. The Inex and the Saros may be regarded as the two most important eclipse cycles with a cycle period of nearly 29 years for the Inex, and just over 18 years for the Saros.
Eclipse “series” refers to a group of eclipses that occur in a sequence at the regular time interval of a certain eclipse cycle. Some eclipse cycles produce short series, strings of just a few eclipses per group. Other cycles produce much longer series.
The Saros series are especially beautiful, so the Saros number for each eclipse is printed in the top left corner of the eclipse maps presented above. Saros numbers are like family names of each series of related eclipse.
Reversal of the Saros series
Comparing the two Saros numbers from each symmetrical pair of eclipses shows that the phenomenon is a reversal of the Saros series:
The mirroring occurs from a point between Saros 136 and 137 in the solar series as seen in the diagrams. To observe this fact scroll to the following eclipse maps and look at the Saros numbers near the top left corner of each diagram:
An eclipse in July 2009 from Saros 136 mirrors an eclipse from Saros 137.
An eclipse in Aug 1998 from Saros 135 mirrors an eclipse from Saros 138.
An eclipse in Oct 2005 from Saros 134 mirrors an eclipse from Saros 139.
Look carefully and see that each Saros series from 136 and prior mirrors a series from 137 and onwards. Each Saros series mirrors another in reverse sequential order. The pattern continues and has no observable end.
Lunar eclipses mirror from the same point in time as the solar eclipses — 5th January 2015, but with regard to the saros numbering or family names it occurred 7 Saros series earlier, between Saros 129 and 130.
As a way of checking for this mirroring effect in the Saros, when the average of the two Saros numbers of any pair of symmetrical eclipses are calculated, the result is always 136.5 in solar eclipse series, or 129.5 in the lunar series. For example, in 2014 and 2015 the first symmetrical pair of solar eclipses: Saros (153 + 120) / 2 = 136.5
When the duration of eclipse is charted to correlate symmetrical historic eclipses with the future eclipses that they mirror, a beautiful pattern appears as shown below. Each dot in the chart represents a pair of symmetrical eclipses. The loops are symmetrical Saros series.

Penumbral phase duration is the longest measure of eclipse duration, taken from the outer most edges of the eclipse shadow. By this measure some solar eclipses last for over 6 hours.
The duration of each pair of symmetrical eclipses is compared, and plotted as a dot on the chart. The eclipse from before 2015 is measured on the x-axis, and the eclipse after 2015 is measured on the y-axis.
Evidently a long duration eclipse mirrors a long duration eclipse (top right of chart) and a short duration eclipse mirrors a short duration eclipse (bottom left of chart).
Each pair of symmetrical Saros series is given a different colour, and the loops demonstrate the life cycle of the Saros series as they are born, grow, peak, decline and die. Most series have 70 or 80 eclipses (or dots per loop on the chart).
Small variations in the correlation gives the chart character and provides material for research. The pattern resembles a spinning comet.
The twist in the tail of the comet can be explained by a small mismatch in the harmony of the anomalystic month.
Small waves that appear periodically within individual series are caused by the eleven day surplus in the 18 year solar component of the Saros cycle.
The correlation is impressive, especially when comparing Gamma which measures the north / south alignment of eclipse. The mathematical value for the coefficient of correlation of gamma is 0.997. With 0 being no correlation and 1 being perfect, it is an extremely strong correlation. The reversal is almost perfect.
Why did the Saros Reverse?
The eclipse reversal phenomenon is caused by a special interaction between two eclipse cycles, the Saros and the Inex. It can be said that the Inex has reversed the Saros series.
Several decades ago the order of the Saros series was unknown. Identifying the correct order was a difficult task that took Astronomers many years of research and debate. It was eventually discovered that the Inex cycle holds the solution to the problem.
The relationship between the Inex and Saros was discovered by George van den Bergh in the 1950s when he observed that the Saros series are ordered according to how they align with the Inex when placed in a table. The relationship between the Inex and the Saros is demonstrated in the Saros-Inex Panorama.
The Saros-Inex panorama is a table of eclipses in which each eclipse is given both a Saros number and an Inex number. The Saros series are arranged in columns with adjacent eclipses at 18 year and 11 day intervals when looking up and down the columns. Several decades ago the problem was how the columns of Saros series should be ordered.
George van den Bergh discovered in the 1950's that the Saros series can be aligned so that the Inex series appear in the rows. Therefore moving horizontally across the table is by Inex cycle steps of 29 years less 20 days. The result is a matrix or table of all eclipses called the Saros-Inex Panorama. The pattern produced is striking, as shown below.

This large Saros-Inex Panarama was produced by Luca Quaglia and John Tilley, and theoretically displays all solar eclipses from 11001 BC to 15000 AD, which contains 61775 eclipses. Eclipse types are represented by colour; Green = Partial, Blue = Total, Red = Annular, and Yellow = Hybrid. A hybrid eclipse changes its type between total and annular during a single eclipse.
There is too much information in the above table to see the detail at this resolution, but it provides an overview of the arrangement of the Saros and Inex eclipse series. The Saros-Inex Panarama provides some very useful information. It can be viewed in more detail on the NASA website:

Given that the Inex provides order to the Saros, it is logical to look to the Saros-Inex panorama to better understand why the Saros have begun to mirror so beautifully, but the reversal pattern is not clearly evident in the panorama, even when zooming in to examine the detail.
The lack of clarity is because the Saros-Inex panorama has a line of chronology that moves on an angle from left to right as can be seen in the way that the ends of the above diagram are cut. The exact chronological sequence of eclipses is too complex to be readily observed in this layout. In addition, the panorama focuses on the eclipse types while ignoring the overall geometry of eclipse.
The eclipse types don't always mirror, but the overall geometry of eclipse does. The eclipse maps at the top of this article, and the correlation chart demonstrate such a strong symmetry that the entire system of eclipse cycles appears to show celestial mechanics engaging reverse gear.
Searching for the Cause
To understand the reversal some good data analysis was required to properly identify and appreciate the cause and meaning of the phenomenon. Theories were gathered that needed to be tested.
One such theory was readily observable in the Saros-Inex panorama by the overall curve of its shape. Could the bottom of the curve have been reached? Would this cause the mirroring as subsequent Saros series begin moving upwards toward the right hand end, mirroring each other across the curve?
In more technical terms, the same question was whether the reversal effect may have been caused by secular changes moving the Inex cycle through perfect harmony at 388.500000 draconic months – a little ahead of schedule? This would put Inex cycle node shift into reverse. (It was an interesting idea, but not the correct answer.)
The Discovery
On a personal level, with no background or experience in astronomy, having made the initial observation in October 2015 that entire system of eclipse astronomy appears to have reversed, I was completely amazed. The professional astronomers who I made contact with treated the observation as a new and interesting discovery, even calling it “a phenomenon”. But what caused the reversal? No one could explain.
Observing that the Saros had reversed provided a focus for study, but also raised more questions. I urgently wanted to understand the phenomenon, primarily because of the religious manner in which the discovery had come to me.
A few weeks before discovering the reversal pattern I had been awakened in a major life changing way to anticipate the coming fulfilment of Bible prophecy.
In mid 2015 I was ignoring news and media to focus on my wife and the birth of my daughter. Then in August, a month after my daughter was born I was deeply effected when I took a moment to consider the news that Donald Trump was running for office.
After two or three weeks of sleeplessness I begun telling my friends and family that I believed he would win the November 2016 election and go on later to fulfil Bible prophecy, especially Daniel 11v36-45.
At that early stage of the campaign in 2015 the general expectation was that Trump would be out of the race in the first round of primaries, however my personal epiphany was so deep and life changing that I couldn't contain myself. My church elders were counselling me to calm my enthusiastic urgency, and I was finding it hard to comply.
I was awakened to expect world war three — a major nuclear war to occur within the next few years. The apocalypse is coming.
Update: Having now left office - in 2021 - which I didn’t expect, my conviction remains solid. I expect Trump will return to office again. His second coming as president is when God’s wrath will be revealed - nuclear war roughly 7 years after the 23rd September 2017 when Virgo gave birth to the King star, Jupiter, exactly as described in Revelation 12. (This will be discussed more later.)
Both heavenly signs of Revelation 12 have occurred:
The birth of God’s child (v1-2) as mentioned above.
The appearance of the dragon (v3) as seen in the eclipses.
These things are to be followed by falling stars and war in heaven,
Having already been awakened to the significance of Donald Trump in August words simply fail to express how stunned and amazed I was when only a few weeks later God gave me the eclipse reversal phenomenon.
In September 2015 I looked at the Biblical Blood Moon Tetrad, and the research by Mark Biltz and Paul Grevas. Many Christians were thinking that it could be the sign of the dragon - Rev 12v3.
Then on the 9th October 2015 while looking at the eclipse maps published by NASA, I saw the reversal pattern.
Using Timeanddate.com I was able to quickly verify the massive scale of the symmetry which spans thousands of years with no end in sight. Then I knew that the reversal pattern truly is a stunning scientific phenomenon, as professional astronomers subsequently confirmed.
The discovery confirmed my convictions about Bible prophecy and my deep state of shock and excitement left me extremely sleepless. With professional astronomers very interested but unable to explain the observation I became fully determined to solve the mystery of the eclipse reversal - with God's help.
While continuing to recognise more signs of prophetic significance I was driven even beyond the desire to sleep at night. Trump himself was born during a total lunar eclipse in 1946. The Inex cycle has 777 draconic months exactly, suggesting “God’s dragon”.
Working tirelessly to research the phenomenon and analyse the eclipse data, I began to make progress, and as I learned eclipse astronomy the religious significance of the phenomenon became even more apparent. Both the cause and meaning of the reversal are evident in the relationship between the Saros and Inex eclipse cycles.
The Divine Relationship
Eclipse Cycles Personified
Eclipse cycles are regular time intervals at which eclipses usually occur.
Saros cycles have 18 years and 11 days between eclipses.
Inex cycles (or half-cycles) have 29 years less 20 days between eclipses.
Many other eclipse cycles exist, but the Inex and Saros are special.
The Inex and the Saros eclipse cycles have an important relationship. They display some interesting but differing qualities. The characteristics of their rhythms may even be personified.
The relationship between the Inex and the Saros resembles that of King and Queen, or even God and mankind.
The Saros are especially beautiful, and are considered to be the most beautiful of all eclipse cycles. The Inex doesn't flow with such feminine beauty, but maintains a steady path in a strong, enduring, masculine way. He determines the order of the Saros just as the man is traditionally the head of a household, or as God provides order to mankind, determining the times and places in which we live.
The Inex is named “In-ex” because he marks the “in - coming” or birth of new Saros series, and the “exiting” or death of the old. Similarly, God is called the “alpha” and the “omega”, the beginning and end, or Author and Finisher.
The more technical details of the astronomy will be considered in due course. The following lists summarise and personify the characteristics of the Inex and Saros:

The Inex can be called, ‘King’ of the eclipse cycles because he displays the following divine qualities:
The Inex runs at 777 draconic months per full cycle (God’s number)
The Inex move in groups of three called, “Triads” (The Trinity)
The Inex provides order to the Saros (Ultimately God rules over mankind)
The Inex series are the longest possible, and getting exponentially longer (God is immortal)
The Inex cycle is extremely accurate with regard to the Draconic month (God is perfect)
The Saros
The Saros can be called, ‘Queen’ of the eclipse cycles and displays many human qualities, and a few qualities of creation:
The Saros is the most beautiful of eclipse cycles (Mankind the pinnacle of God’s creation)
The Saros series are commonly described as family groups of eclipses, each displaying a family likeness in the characteristics of their eclipses. (like nations, languages and people groups)
The Saros series are born small and grow until they reach a peak, then decline and finally die, having a life span of about 70 or 80 eclipses (The normal human lifespan in years - Psalm 90v10)
The Saros cycle does not run at perfect harmony, her error with respect to the Draconic month causes her eventual death. (Because of sin we die)
The Saros cycle is 18 years and 11 days. Her beautiful characteristics are attributed to the alignment of the Draconic and Anomalistic axes, together with the solar year. All 3 components align 3 times per 18 year cycle at 6 year intervals (6 + 6 + 6). The number 6-6-6 represents mankind (Revelation 13v18).
The Saros series are mathematically proven to have a 7000 year super cycle (Biblical history)
The Saros have four basic kinds, solar and lunar eclipses which occur at either the ascending or descending draconic nodes (The four living creatures of creation - Revelation 4)
The Saros series form 12 groups of Solar series and 12 groups of Lunar series in the 7000 year super cycle (God's family of 24 elders: 12 tribes of Israel plus the 12 apostles – Revelation 4)
The Inex displays some uniquely divine characteristics, while the qualities of the Saros are especially beautiful and human in nature. They relate to each other like King and Queen or God and mankind, their relationship demonstrated in the Saros-Inex panorama. But now the Inex has reversed the Saros. Her reversal is ominous.
The 6-6-6 rhythm of the Saros is often said to represent evil, but is actually said to be the Biblical number for mankind, (Rev 13v18). Therefore the 6-6-6 may more accurately represent the completion of humanity as we approach the final consummation. There are 6 days for work and we are currently nearing the completion of 6000 years of Biblical history. Therefore we are approaching the much longed for 7th millennium, the 7th day of rest.
The eclipse reversal occurs on a 7000 year cycle in which the Saros have reached a major turning point, and began reflecting each other. There is scientific evidence and mathematical proof (to be discussed) that the Saros series are actually eternal, because although they have a limited lifespan they continue to exist in a dormant state and are re-born again, on a 7000 year cycle.
Within this 7000 year period there are 12 divisions producing 24 similar points of high quality reflection, but these are not likely to occur in the same religiously significant circumstances with respect to the Jewish holy days of 2014 and 2015. However the concept of 12 divisions of time and 24 elders is very interesting, and is spoken about in Biblical books and extra Biblical books that were written in ancient times.
The Biblical timeline of history is 7000 years. God's day is like a thousand years with six days for work, and the seventh for rest. There were approximately 2000 years from creation to Abraham, 2000 years from Abraham to Jesus, and now 2000 years from Jesus until today. We now look forward to the seventh day of rest, an eternal day which Jesus will bring for His people when He comes again in glory.
Numerology
The Inex displays God's number - 777, while the Saros displays man's number - 666. The number 7 represents completion and perfection which is in contrast to mankind. Our number is 6 because we always fall short.
God's number 777 reflects his character, complete and perfect, and God is three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit: 7-7-7. It is therefore logical that the number of mankind should be 6-6-6, because despite being sinners and falling short of God's perfect standard, we are made in the image of God, to reflect something of God's glory. We are the pinnacle of God's creation.
While the number 666 is commonly thought to represent evil, mankind is not purely evil. However as sinners our days are numbered. Eventually, 'when our number is up' we will depart. It is because of sin that we are mortal. The Biblical expectation is that because of disobedience the whole world is subject to corruption, and will one day pass away.
Both the reversal of the Saros and her triple six year rhythm testify to the Biblical expectation that God will bring the completion and end to all mankind. Her order now reversed signals that prophetic times are coming upon us.
The expectation is of a 'new world order' that will arrive with the appearance of the final “Beast”, the final world government system. That final governing system is expected to arrive through major warfare, and it will come under the power of the dragon. When the times are nearing their completion all God's purposes will be accomplished according to the testimony of Jesus.
The number of the beast will be man's number, 6-6-6 (Revelation 13v18). That final beast, and all who are numbered with it will come to the end and be eternally destroyed, but those who live by faith and in obedience to Christ will cross over to new life, and will be counted as belonging to Him for ever. He will take us from this place of suffering and we shall live with Him in glory.
The Dragon in Astronomy
The dragon has an interesting role to play in eclipse astronomy. The draconic month is named after the dragon because in ancient times it was said that the dragon lives in the draconic nodes which are the two points in the moon's orbit where eclipses occur.
In ancient mythology it was said that the Dragon takes a bite out of the sun or moon during a solar or lunar eclipse, and therefore as light represents good, and darkness evil, eclipses have long been considered an ominous sign.
The exact time periods involved in the reversal phenomenon show that the dragon is at work in the relationship between the divine Inex and beautiful Saros. It is by the trickery of the dragon that the Saros appears to have been turned backwards.
We must examine the eclipse cycles to understand what has happened.
The draconic month is very important to eclipse astronomy and for understanding eclipse cycles, but the exact behaviour of the dragon is quite complex and tricky, as true to character, so prepare for some challenging detail. Don't get too bogged down in the celestial mechanics, but it is an advantage to understand what makes eclipse cycles work.
We will see why the Saros is so beautiful, but pay special attention to the harmony in the Inex cycle.
Eclipse cycles
If you watch the moon's rising and setting carefully you will notice that it doesn't always rise and set at the same place on the horizon. The moon drifts a little to the north of the sky for a few days, and then comes back to the equator. Then it goes a little to the south for a few days, and back to the equator again, according to its rhythm. This is the rhythm of the draconic month.
The draconic month is the time it takes for the moon to move north and then south of the ecliptic which is the plane of the earth's orbit around the sun. This happens because the moon's orbit around the earth is inclined at about 5 degrees to the earth's orbit around the sun, and therefore intersects the ecliptic at two points called, the draconic nodes.
When the draconic nodes align with the earth and the sun eclipses occur at full moon and new moon. The draconic month is measured from the ascending node, at the northward crossing of the ecliptic, and is about 27.2 days on average, which is quicker than the 29.5 day lunar month. The 2.3 day difference is what produces eclipse cycles.
Eclipses always coincide precisely with the lunar month, but may endure a margin of error of up to 17 degrees rotation around the draconic month before an alignment between the sun, moon and earth becomes impossible.
As an illustration, just imagine two wheels rotating together at slightly different speeds:
The two wheels are the lunar and draconic months, and they intersect eachother with religious significance, like the whirling wheels of God's glorious war chariot described in Ezekiel 1 and 10. This chariot is driven by the four living creatures who surround the throne of God as described in Revelation 4, but we will come back to consider this later.
In eclipse astronomy, these two intersecting wheels are the lunar month and the draconic month. With each month's rotation the lunar month falls 2.3 days further behind the draconic month. About 6 months after an eclipse, when their alignment is at about 180 degrees to each other another eclipse is possible from the opposite draconic node. This 5 or 6 month period is called an eclipse season.
Then for another 5 or 6 months, the draconic nodes continue to rotate until their alignment coincides with the lunar month again, and then at full and new moon, eclipses occur. The general timing of eclipse seasons are determined by the draconic month and the draconic nodes, but the exact timing of eclipses are determined by the lunar month.
Because the draconic and lunar months rotate at slightly different speeds, harmonies of certain alignments between the lunar and draconic months can be found at various frequencies of time. These harmonies are called eclipse cycles.
Eclipse cycle harmonies are based primarily on the number of lunar months, and secondly to varying degrees of precision on the number of draconic months. The exact location of the draconic nodes tends to shift a little from one eclipse to the next throughout the lifespan of an eclipse series. Less node shift or a closer harmony with the draconic month produces a more stable and longer lasting eclipse series.
Eclipse Cycle Qualities
Several additional qualities are apparent when an eclipse cycle has a harmony with another cycle. For example, the anomalistic month is another kind of month, having on average a 27.55 day cycle. The anomalistic month relates to the elliptical shape of the moon's orbit, or slight oval shape.
As the moon comes closer to the earth solar eclipses become total, and when the moon is further away and therefore too small to completely block out the sun a solar eclipse is called, annular. An eclipse cycle that has a harmony with the anomalistic month will produce eclipses that are more alike.
An eclipse cycle may also have a harmony with the solar year. The earth's orbit around the sun is slightly elliptical which also has some effect on the timing and geometry of eclipse.
For an eclipse cycle to function there must firstly be a harmony between the lunar and draconic months. For additional qualities, an eclipse cycle may also include a harmony with the anomalistic month or solar year.
The Semester and Lunar eclipse cycles are given first below only as examples, and for comparison. The Saros and Inex cycles are of primary interest. If numbers boggle your mind just skim over the details of the next few paragraphs.
The Semester eclipse cycle, for example runs at a rate of 6 lunar months per cycle, which corresponds to 6.511 draconic months. The “.5” means that the next eclipse will occur at the opposite draconic node, and therefore must occur when the earth and moon have travelled to the other side of the sun.
The “.011” component in the Semester cycle is the error in the timing, as a measure of the quality of the harmony between the lunar and draconic months. A semester series has a lifespan of 8 eclipses in a series.
The Lunar eclipse cycle is double the Semester cycle at 12 lunar months and 13.022 draconic months. However the “.022” is twice the degree of error which causes this cycle to fail often as the draconic month slips out of sync with the lunar month relatively quickly. A Lunar eclipse series has a lifespan of just 4 cycles, or 4 eclipses per series.
A longer eclipse series requires the draconic month to measure as close as possible to an integer value – a whole number with minimal decimal fraction, when compared with a certain whole number of lunar months. Closer harmonies produce longer series of eclipses.
The Saros
The Saros cycle has a close harmony of 238.992 anomalistic months, referring to the elliptical shape of the moon's orbit, and at only 11.3 days more than 18 years, the Saros has a pretty good harmony with the solar year.
Most importantly, the Saros consists of 223 lunar months and 241.9987 draconic months, very close to the integer 242. This close harmony with the draconic month gives the Saros series a usual lifespan of just over 70 and sometimes well over 80 eclipses per series.
The small error in the harmony with the draconic month causes successive Saros eclipses to shift about 300 km per cycle in either the northward or southward direction, depending on which of the two draconic nodes the series belongs. This shift in alignment is called, delta-gamma. Gamma is the measure of north / south alignment of eclipse and is printed on the bottom left corner of the eclipse maps.
All of these harmonies make the Saros especially beautiful because the geometry of her successive eclipses are always very similar.
The beautiful nature of the Saros, and the opposite north south directions that they move in allows adjacent series from opposite draconic nodes to mirror each other as they reach the peak in their life cycle. This occurs as they cross the equator and they pass each other by, travelling in opposite directions.
As Saros series cross the equator and cross paths with a series going in the opposite direction, their beautiful rhythm allows them to produce the surprising mirroring effect which extends through time and across all Saros series. This is what we observe as the Reversal Phenomenon.
However, while mirroring effects occur between every adjacent pair of Saros series, the patterns they produce are not all of equal quality. The qualities of these patterns of symmetry are determined by how they relate to the solar year.
The earth's slightly elliptical orbit around the sun has the strongest influence on delta gamma, producing variations in the north / south alignment eclipse. Delta gamma is the strongest influencing factor on the character of eclipse, so the Saros series' relationship to the solar year is of high importance, and this is determined by the Inex.
The 2015 reversal displays the highest possible quality of symmetry. This is because the point of reversal in 2015 coincided very closely with perihelion, when the earth reached it's closest approach to the sun. Coupled with circumstances of amazing religious significance, the 2015 eclipse reversal is a true barbecue stopper. But why 2015? The Inex cycle holds the key.
The Inex cycle
The Inex cycle is most amazing, but not for beauty as he lacks the smooth flowing rhythm that the Saros displays. The Inex determines the order of the Saros series, producing the circumstances for the stunning quality of the 2015 eclipse reversal phenomenon. His power comes from having a relationship with the draconic month that is extremely close to perfect.
The Inex and the anomalistic month
The Inex has a poorer quality relationship with the anomalistic month at 383.674 months per Inex which causes reduced geometric similarity between successive eclipses. However a harmony occurs on every third Inex as the decimal value then comes closer to an integer value (.674 x 3 = 2.022). This is what gives the Inex it's groups of three called, “Triads”.
Triads are reflected in the Saros series. Similarly God is three persons, the trinity, and His characteristics are reflected in mankind, for we are the pinnacle of his creation, made in the image of God. The Inex's poor relationship with the anomalistic month comes in exchange for a triune nature.
The Inex and the solar year
The Inex also has a lesser quality relationship with the solar year which cycles at 20 days short of 29 years, but this has the interesting effect of creating the cyclical shape seen in the jagged edges of the Saros-Inex panarama. Over a 7000 year super cycle this divides the beautiful Saros into 12 groups with about 18.58 series per group.
The Inex determines the dates for the Saros series, placing the peak of each successive Saros series 20 days earlier on the calendar than the previous series. The calendar date of various midpoints of symmetry move around the calendar in the same manner. Points of greater symmetry occur both at perihelion and aphelion producing 24 high quality patterns in a 7000 year super cycle.
For the Inex, both the anomalistic month and solar year are only cosmetic details which are of lesser importance overall. While these periods add to the beauty of an eclipse cycle they are not important to the basic functioning or longevity of any eclipse series. There is something else going on in the Inex that sets it apart from all the other eclipse cycles.
The apparent reversal of the beautiful Saros is controlled by the Inex which is known for providing order to the Saros series as shown in the Saros-Inex Panorama. Therefore it can be said that the Inex appears to have reversed the Saros, but what gives the Inex this power?
The Inex and the draconic month
The most important quality of the Inex is his outstanding relationship to the draconic month which is unmatched by any other eclipse cycle. A good harmony with the draconic month is the key component for any eclipse cycle to function, but for the Inex this relationship is much better than “good”. His harmony with the draconic month is pretty much perfect!
While almost perfect, very small changes in the moon's orbit are inching the Inex even closer to a truly perfect harmony with the draconic month. These are called, “secular changes”, and are causing the Inex series to extending in length exponentially so that He is approaching perfect immortality.
An Inex is currently 388.5001 draconic months, and is slowly moving toward 388.5000 exactly. The “.5” indicates that a cycle finishes at the opposite draconic node which causes his eclipses to alternate between the northern and southern hemispheres, as they alternate between the two draconic nodes.
One Inex is really only half a cycle as it finishes at 180 degrees rotation of the draconic month. It takes two Inex of 29 years less 20 days each to return back to the same draconic node for a true 360 degree cycle to be complete. Therefore the complete double Inex cycle can be regarded as 58 years less 40 days.
This is how A. D. C. Crommelin preferred to view the Inex. In 1901 Crommelin was the first astronomer in modern history to describe the Inex, which at the time was still an unnamed eclipse cycle. In his article published in 1901 in the journal, “The Observatory”, page 380, he said,
“I should be disposed to treat the new cycle as one of 58 years with a note that eclipses at the opposite node occur midway between successive members of the cycle.”
In the key unit of draconic months, the double Inex cycle runs to an astonishing degree of precision unmatched by any other eclipse cycle at the glorious harmony of 777 draconic months!
Two Inex are 388.5 + 388.5 = 777 draconic months.
Seven hundred and seventy seven is God's majestic number! It represents completion and perfection.
As we consider the Inex and the draconic month, in symbolic terms we are considering God and the dragon, or Satan.
The “777 draconic months” of the Inex, as the name suggests, points to “God's dragon”. This means that we are to consider the ultimate purposes for that dreadful creature commonly known as Satan.
The Inex reversed the Saros on Epiphany eve, 2015. Therefore the eclipse reversal pattern signals, “the appearance of God's dragon”.
Eclipses have Symbolic Meaning
Eclipses have long been considered an ominous sign by most cultures, and the dragon is much feared. The heavenly lights are darkened during an eclipse when the draconic nodes align with the sun, and this puts deep symbolic meaning into Eclipse astronomy. These signs and symbols have been understood for thousands of years.
The darkening of the sun or moon in the draconic node represents the forces of evil which strive to overcome and corrupt what is good. This can be understood from Scripture by considering how the terms “light” and “dark” are used.
On the road to Damascus Jesus appeared to Paul to appoint him as a servant of many people, Acts 26v17-18
“to open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins...”
Colossians 1v13 ESV
“He (the Father - God) has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son,
Ephesians 6v12 ESV
“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.”
The struggle between light and dark seen during an eclipse represents the ultimate struggle between good and evil.
We have seen that the entire system of eclipse astronomy now appears to be repeating in reverse order, and the day on which everything began to mirror was 5th of January 2015, which was Epiphany eve. Epiphany means “appearance”, and is traditionally the time when Christians celebrated the heavenly sign that pointed to the birth of Christ. But the eclipse reversal is not like the star of Bethlehem.
The Inex has reversed the Saros. The king of the eclipse cycles has reversed the beautiful queen, and according to the “777 draconic months” of two Inex, we are considering the sinister deeds of “God's dragon”.
God is the In-ex, the alpha and omega, the beginning and the end, the “in” and the “ex”. The Inex was named because it marks the in-coming and exiting of the Saros series, the beginning of new Saros series and the end of the old. God determines the times for mankind. He knows when we are to be born, and when we will die.
God says there will one day be an end to all mankind, and only He knows when that day will come. He promised to give us some warning signs as the time draws near, so it is particularly interesting to see how all the Saros have now begun reflecting from a kind of endpoint in their sequence. The symbolic meaning suggests that the time of the end is coming near for all mankind.
Added symbolic significance is seen in the two Inex per complete cycle of 777 draconic months. An Inex has two parts, “in” and “ex”, so on the second Inex cycle the emphasis falls on the “ex” which refers to the “exit” or ending of Saros.
These endpoints marked by the Inex, King of the eclipse cycles suggest that we are considering “the time of the end.” Therefore the significance in the eclipse reversal pattern is how it can represent:
“The appearance of God's dragon at the time of the end.”
Theological Questions and Prophecy
“The appearance of God's dragon at the time of the end” is a powerful message to find in the eclipse reversal phenomenon, and it raises some important theological questions:
Where was the dragon before he appeared?
Where has the dragon appeared?
What does the appearance of God's dragon mean?
These questions will be considered in brief, and then again in more detail:
The ongoing trouble in the world makes it clear that the dragon is alive and well, but he has not been completely free to do all he wants. Scripture teaches that Satan is restrained by the power of Jesus' victory at the cross so that the Gospel may advance. Many believe the dragon was bound in the Abyss for a thousand (or two) years so that God's people may live and reign as a kingdom of priests.
The dragon restrained and bound in the abyss means freedom for God's people so that we may live victorious lives. But according to this Amillenial view of Revelation 20 Satan is due to be released again so that all prophecy may be fulfilled. If you are willing to accept it, the eclipse reversal signals the dragon's release, and evidence suggests that he has now appeared in God's heavenly throne room.
The astronomy confirms the theology with regard to the dragon's appearance in the throne room of God, so we must examine both the Scripture and the astronomy to more fully appreciate this matter.
The dragon is prince of this world, but the heavenly throne room of God has been out of bounds to him for a long time. Satan loves power and glory, so he wouldn't hesitate given the opportunity to ascend to that place again. Now it seems that he has. With the eclipse reversal’s sign of the dragon's appearance in the heavenly throne room of God we can expect major conflict ahead, but there is a strong hope for God's people. We have God's special protection (Rev 12).
The Woman, The Child and The Dragon
Revelation 12
Two heavenly signs are foretold in the first few verses of Revelation 12, the woman giving birth to God's child, and the appearance of the dragon which attempts to devour that child. Both of these heavenly signs are believed by some Christians to have been recently fulfilled. Many more Christians are watching with a genuine fascination, and with the belief that the last days are indeed upon us.
Revelation 12v1-6
A great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet and a crown of twelve stars on her head.2 She was pregnant and cried out in pain as she was about to give birth.3 Then another sign appeared in heaven: an enormous red dragon with seven heads and ten horns and seven crowns on its heads. 4 Its tail swept a third of the stars out of the sky and flung them to the earth. The dragon stood in front of the woman who was about to give birth, so that it might devour her child the moment he was born. 5 She gave birth to a son, a male child, who “will rule all the nations with an iron scepter.” And her child was snatched up to God and to his throne.6 The woman fled into the wilderness to a place prepared for her by God, where she might be taken care of for 1,260 days.
The sign of the glorious woman giving birth (v1-2) is believed to have taken place on 23rd September 2017. This wonderful event has been carefully studied, and is commonly called, “The Revelation 12 sign”.

The Biblical Blood Moon Tetrad together with the Eclipse Reversal on 5th January 2015 fulfils the second sign (v3), the appearance of the Dragon.
The Revelation 12 sign is a dramatic birth scene, and is fulfilled on multiple levels. Firstly it represents the birth of Jesus into the crisis of King Herod's attempt to have Him killed. He was snatched out of harms way. He was not taken out of this world at that time, but down into Egypt to be cared for, for a time.
It will happen again, because “the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy,” Rev 19v10b.
The Revelation 12 sign also has a spiritual fulfilment being part of our own testimony. It represents the birth of new believers as we receive faith and are “born again”. In this sense we cross over from spiritual death to a new life, thanks to Jesus’ victory at the cross. We receive God's Holy Spirit and enter into God's kingdom, the kingdom that is currently within us.
Finally, I believe that the Revelation 12 sign also represents the birth of the final generation - to begin the great drama of the last days. This is where we are at currently, if you are willing to accept it.
What does it mean?
The Revelation 12 sign of the birth of God's child occurred astronomically on the feast of trumpets, 23rd September 2017. It is believed by many Christians to be a true sign from God. It is being tested by many who are wondering greatly about it. And now as we examine the 2015 eclipse reversal phenomenon, we are considering the second sign of Revelation 12, the appearance of God's dragon.
Revelation 12v3-9 describes the heavenly sign of the dragon's appearance followed by war in heaven. Things that take place in heaven are reflected in the events of this world. We are therefore considering the most major of wars. Daniel 11v36-44 tells of the circumstances, describing the lead up to an event that will “destroy and annihilate many”. Rev 6, 8 & 9 gives details of what I believe will be a huge nuclear war.
This war will be a great trumpet sounding, earth shaking event. Having appeared in God's throne room, Satan is about to be expelled from heaven (Rev 12v7-9), and when he falls to earth he will bring down a third of the stars (Rev 12v4). The smoke of that conflict will be straight from the Abyss causing devastating harm to the whole world (Rev 9v1-2, and the seals and trumpets of partial wrath).
To those who understand the pattern of prophecy, the law of God and the testimony of Jesus, the astronomy comes as confirmation. There are limits to what we can learn from nature, but God's word has infinite wisdom. God's law is good and will bless those who keep it. The Scriptures are highlighted in our minds by God's Spirit, provoking good questions and providing the right answers.
Where was the dragon before he appeared?
Scripture describe the Dragon as Bound in the Abyss
The dragon is a fallen angel also called Satan who prowls the earth looking for people to devour. Some of his names are listed in Revelation, the last book of the Bible which describes the final conflicts between good and evil. Thanks to Jesus, the final conflict has been delayed, but it must still come at the appointed time of the end.
The apostle John saw an angel in a vision with the power to chain up the dragon.
“He seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil, or Satan, and bound him for a thousand years. He threw him into the Abyss, and locked and sealed it over him, to keep him from deceiving the nations any more until the thousand years were ended. After that, he must be set free for a short time.” (Rev 20v2-3) (also Rev 12v3 ff)
After making his appearance the dragon will be thrown to earth, (Rev 12v9).
According to the Amillenial view of Revelation 20, the dragon has now been held back for about 2000 years. Satan's greatest defeat occurred at the cross of Christ when Jesus overcame sin and death. Ever since that time God has restrained the dragon so that gospel of truth and life may go out to the ends of the earth. The power of Jesus' victory at the cross is seen in the following verses:
John 12v31
“Now is the time for judgement on this world; now the prince of this world [Satan] will be driven out.”
Col 2v15
“having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.”
The dragon was said to be bound for a thousand years and was kept in the Abyss. But the Gospel has now been going out for about 2000 years. This can be seen as a significant discrepancy, however numbers in Revelation are usually more symbolic than literal in meaning. God did not intend to give exact times and dates concerning the appearance of the dragon at end of the age.
After the present time of millennial blessing the dragon “must be set free for a short time.” Rev 20v3, 12v3 ff. This is why we expect that the dragon will re-appear. The dragon's expected appearance is perfectly consistent with the Amillennial view of Revelation 20.
Those with other views on the millennium (and who are no less loved by God on account of their faith and obedience to Christ) like to point out that the world has always been a troublesome place, and still is. They question the Amillennial view by asking,
“In what sense has the dragon been bound for the last 2000 years?”
The dragon is bound to limit what he can do to the church. The church is symbolically spoken of as God's nation, God's city - Jerusalem, the Temple of God and body and bride of Christ. Satan is bound “to keep him from deceiving the nations...” (Rev 20v3), so that they won't all unite to attack God's city (Rev 20v7-9). The final Antichrist and the great tribulation are being held back until the appointed time of the end.
Satan is a very powerful being, very tricky and deceptive, so the fact that faith and the knowledge of God still exists in the 21st century is a testimony to the great restraint that God has placed on the dragon. In the end the dragon will set himself up in the temple (2 Thess 2v4), bringing the final abomination (Mat 24, Mark 13, Luke 21 and Daniel). This also happened when Judas betrayed Jesus.
The binding of the dragon does not represent his removal from this world any more than Christians can claim to have come out of this world on becoming believers. Both Satan and the Church are still here in this world, but we are “separated”. God's people are “Holy”, and He protects His children from being devoured by the dragon.
The Scriptures teach that the Dragon and his demons were bound about 2000 years ago by Jesus. Since that time, while the Gospel is preached the Kingdom of God continues to advance.
The following verses show how Jesus and His disciples worked to bind Satan and his demons:
In Luke 8, when the Legion of demons who possessed a man saw Jesus, they begged Him not to send them into the Abyss. So Jesus sent them into a herd of pigs, and the pigs ran down a steep bank into the lake and were drowned (Luke 8v30-33).
Jesus set many people free from demons, and the disciples had this same power. After Jesus sent out the 72 to preach that the Kingdom of God was near, they came back rejoicing that “even the demons submit to us in your name” Luke 10v17b. Jesus said,
Luke 10v18
“I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. I have given you authority... to overcome all the power of the enemy”
Luke 11v20 “if I drive out demons by the finger of God, then the kingdom of God has come to you.”
Since Jesus defeated the dragon we can pray the Lord's prayer,
“your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven... deliver us from the evil one.” - Mat 6v10 & 13.
We can pray this prayer in the faith and with the expectation that God answers this prayer. While the evil one is being held back we experience real kingdom power of heavenly origin.
Luke 22v29
“And I confer on you a kingdom...”
This is the millennial kingdom described in Revelation 20, which is only made possible by Satan's defeat at the cross of Christ. If we are looking for a physical earthly kingdom we are mistaken. Jesus specifically said not to look for such a thing because His kingdom is not of this world.
Luke 17v20b-21
“The kingdom of God does not come with your careful observation, nor will people say, 'Here it is,' or 'There it is,' because the kingdom of God is within you.”
Believers and followers of Jesus are living and reigning today, not literally in the ultimate eternal kingdom of heaven because that is still to come. Satan still makes his presence felt, however thanks to Jesus' work at the cross to bind up the strong man, and to set sinners free, we are currently living and reigning with Christ.
Rom 5v17b
“...those who receive God's abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ.”
We live and reign as a kingdom of priests in God's millennial earthly kingdom, and it is for this purpose that the dragon has been chained up. We have “the first resurrection” - we are born again. We have come to life and we reign.
Revelation 20v4b-6
“They came to life and reigned with Christ a thousand years. 5 (The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended.) This is the first resurrection.6 Blessed and holy are those who share in the first resurrection. The second death has no power over them, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with him for a thousand years.”
We serve as priests of God today, (Rev 20v6). This is why the dragon was bound.
Rev 5v10 ESV
“You have made them a kingdom and priests to our God, and they shall reign on the earth.”
1 Peter 2v5
“you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.”
1 Peter 2v9
“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.”
Rev 1v5b-6
To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood, 6 and has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve his God and Father—to him be glory and power for ever and ever! Amen.
We have the first resurrection today, as part of the millennial kingdom thanks to Satan's defeat at the cross. We have died to sin and are born again. Our first death and rebirth is spiritual. Our second death will be physical but will have no power over us. When Jesus comes again we will experience the second resurrection.
Revelation 20v4b-6
“They came to life and reigned with Christ a thousand years. 5 (The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended.) This is the first resurrection.6 Blessed and holy are those who share in the first resurrection. The second death has no power over them”
John 5v24-25
“whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life. I tell you the truth, a time is coming and has now come when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God and those who hear will live.”

Col 3v1a & 3
“Since, then, you have been raised with Christ set your hearts on things above... For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.”
Eph 2v1-2a, 4-6
“As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air...
(v4)But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions – it is by grace you have been saved. And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus.
When interpreted in the Spiritual sense, coming to faith in Jesus and being “born again” is to share in the story of Jesus himself as described by the birth of God’s child in Revelation 12.
Revelation 12v4b-5
“The dragon stood in front of the woman who was about to give birth, so that it might devour her child the moment he was born. 5 She gave birth to a son, a male child, who “will rule all the nations with an iron scepter.” And her child was snatched up to God and to his throne.”
When we were made alive in Christ the dragon appeared wanting to devour us, but we were snatched up to God's throne spiritually speaking, and the dragon defeated. Ephesians 2 and Revelation 12v1-5 are describing the same thing, but prophecy remains to be fulfilled yet again with one final great drama in the last days.
Before Jesus returns at the end of the millennium the dragon will be let loose again, as described in Revelation 12 and 20. The dragon will escape from the Abyss for a short time during the lifetime of the final generation, but we are cared for, and protected.
Believers and followers of Jesus are the two olive trees or two lamp stands of Revelation 11. The beast who will appear in the last days, who comes up out of the Abyss will not be able to put out those lights until we have finished our testimony, (Rev 11v7).
1 Pet 1v5
“through faith (we) are shielded by God's power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.”
The dragon has been bound, kept in the Abyss for a thousand years so that God's kingdom may advance. But when the thousand years is over the dragon will be set free for a short time (Rev 20v3, 7). There are reasons to believe that this “short time” will be the typological 40, 50 or 70 year period referred to in Scripture. It will be for the lifetime of the 'fig tree' generation described in Mat 24v32-34.
In Summary:
The dragon was bound in the Abyss for a thousand years (or now nearly two thousand years). His defeat was by the power of Jesus' death and resurrection. But his defeat isn't yet final. Scripture warns that the dragon will be released again for a little while.
We now observe a remarkable pattern in the eclipses that focuses on 2015, and is full of meaning. On examining the circumstance and cause of this pattern we understand that God has given us a sign. The message is that the dragon has now appeared. The eclipse reversal appears to signal: God's dragon has appeared at the time of the end.
So we may ask, “Where did the dragon appear?”
The dragon appears in God's Throne Room
Observe the war chariot of God
Eclipse astronomy as a whole mirrors the glorious throne room of God. We see this through both the general principles of creation, and in the more specific details of eclipse astronomy where it's structure matches the Biblical picture of God's glorious throne room. The intersecting cycles of lunar and draconic months that create the eclipse cycles resemble the wheels of God's war chariot.
In the beginning when God created the earth, the sky, the sea and the heavenly lights, He made them according to His good character and to reflect His glory, and it was good (Gen 1). God's creation displays His invisible qualities (Rom 1v20), but God is much bigger than this creation. God exists separately, outside and beyond this universe. However, He has designed the universe to reflect His glory.
Psalm 19v1-6
The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
2 Day after day they pour forth speech;
night after night they reveal knowledge.
3 They have no speech, they use no words;
no sound is heard from them.
4 Yet their voice goes out into all the earth,
their words to the ends of the world.
In the heavens God has pitched a tent for the sun.
5 It is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber,
like a champion rejoicing to run his course.
6 It rises at one end of the heavens
and makes its circuit to the other;
nothing is deprived of its warmth.
Biblical numerology is a powerful communication tool used to describe God's glory and various aspects of his character. In Revelation 4 God's glorious heavenly throne room is described using numbers that paint a word picture of a worship scene. All creation and all God's people are pictured surrounding God's throne in worship. This throne room picture is mirrored in eclipse astronomy.
The ways in which God's glory and power are woven into creation are told using sets of four. Examples include four winds, four seasons, four corners of the land. In John's vision of the heavenly throne room of God he saw four living creatures that surround the throne, worshipping God - Revelation chapter 4.
On the fourth day of creation God made the lights in the sky. He made the Sun, moon, and stars, and said, “Let them serve as signs to mark seasons and days and years.” (Gen 1v14). God put His glory on display in the heavens on this forth day.
Eclipse astronomy – four great wheels
The number four is important in eclipse astronomy because there are four basic kinds of eclipse: Solar and Lunar eclipses which occur at either the ascending or descending draconic node. These four categories are on display in the Saros-Inex panorama.
The solar and lunar kinds of eclipse are displayed in two separate panoramas. These two panoramas each have a system in which the Saros series are arranged according to the draconic node at which they occur. Odd numbered Saros series occur at the ascending node, and even numbered Saros series occur at the descending node.
These four basic categories of eclipse are the foundation upon which the Saros are organised. In eclipse astronomy these four kinds could be described as four great wheels that drive the whole system.
God's heavenly war chariot
In God's heavenly throne room there are four living creatures surrounding the throne worshipping God. In Ezekiel these four living creatures drive the four great wheels of God's war chariot.
Rev 4v6-8
In the centre, around the throne, were four living creatures, and they were covered with eyes, in front and in back. The first living creature was like a lion, the second was like an ox, the third had a face like a man, the fourth was like a flying eagle. Each of the four living creatures had six wings and was covered with eyes all around, even under its wings. Day and night they never stop saying:
“‘Holy, holy, holy
is the Lord God Almighty,’
who was, and is, and is to come.”
In chapters 1 and 10 of Ezekiel, these four living creatures are called cherubim, and they drive God's glorious war chariot. The chariot has four wheels, each one made up of two intersecting wheels, and God's glory moves above. These intersecting wheels are exactly like the intersecting cycles of lunar and draconic months that together create the rhythm of the eclipse cycles.
God's war chariot moves into action when the dragon appears in heavenly throne room. There is war:
Rev 12v7-9
Then war broke out in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought back. 8 But he was not strong enough, and they lost their place in heaven. 9 The great dragon was hurled down—that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him.
Earlier we saw that eclipse cycles consist of both the lunar and draconic months like a pair of wheels which intersect creating eclipses. The four basic kinds of eclipse: lunar and solar occurring at either the ascending or descending nodes can be described as four great pairs of intersecting wheels, exactly like the wheels of God's heavenly war chariot as pictured in Ezekiel's visions.
The glorious war chariot of God:
Ezekiel 1
(1v4-6) “I looked, and I saw a windstorm coming out of the north – an immense cloud with flashing lightning and surrounded by brilliant light. The centre of the fire looked like glowing metal, and in the fire was what looked like four living creatures. In appearance their form was that of a man, but each of them had four faces and four wings...
...(1v13-14) The appearance of the living creatures was like burning coals of fire or like torches. Fire moved back and forth among the creatures; it was bright, and lightning flashed out of it. The creatures sped back and fourth like flashes of lightning.
(1v15-18) As I looked at the living creatures, I saw a wheel on the ground beside each creature with its four faces. This was the appearance and structure of the wheels; They sparkled like chrysolite, and all four looked alike. Each appeared to be made like a wheel intersecting a wheel. As they moved, they would go in any one of the four directions the creatures faced; the wheels did not turn about as the creatures went. Their rims were high and awesome, and all four rims were full of eyes all around.
(1v19-21) When the living creatures moved, the wheels beside them moved; and when the living creatures rose from the ground, the wheels also rose. Wherever the spirit would go, they would go, and the wheels would rise along with them, because the spirit of the living creatures was in the wheels. When the creatures moved, they also moved; when the creatures stood still, they also stood still; and when the creatures rose from the ground, the wheels rose along with them, because the spirit of the living creatures was in the wheels.
(1v22-24) Spread out above the heads of the living creatures was what looked something like a vault, sparkling like crystal, and awesome. Under the vault their wings were stretched out one toward the other, and each had two wings covering its body. When the creatures moved, I heard the sound of their wings, like the roar of rushing waters, like the voice of the Almighty, like the tumult of an army. When they stood still, they lowered their wings.”
(1v25-28) Then there came a voice from above the vault over their heads as they stood with lowered wings. Above the vault over their heads was what looked like a throne of lapis lazuli, and high above on the throne was a figure like that of a man. I saw that from what appeared to be his waist up he looked like glowing metal, as if full of fire, and that from there down he looked like fire; and brilliant light surrounded him. Like the appearance of a rainbow in the clouds on a rainy day, so was the radiance around him.
“This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the LORD. When I saw it, I fell face down, and I heard the voice of one speaking.”
Again in Ezekiel 10 God's war chariot is described as having 4 wheels, each one a wheel intersecting a wheel:
Ezekiel 10v9-10, 13
“I looked and saw beside the cherubim four wheels, one beside each of the cherubim; the wheels sparkled like chrysolite. As for their appearance, the four of them looked alike; each was like a wheel intersecting a wheel...
(v13) I heard the wheels being called “the whirling wheels”.
The four basic categories of eclipse align with the imagery of the intersecting wheels of God's war chariot in a way that provokes much contemplation. The sun and moon were created to “serve as signs to mark seasons, and days and years” (Gen 1v14). According to their design God will rise in his war chariot to do battle at the appointed time.
Stage by stage the glory of God moves up, out and away from the temple of God, as Ezekiel describes, and the sun, moon and stars serve as signs to mark seasons and days and years.
God's complete family with 24 representatives
The throne room of God is described in Revelation 4 as a glorious place of worship in which 24 for elders are seated on 24 thrones around God and his throne. The four living creatures are at the centre surrounding God's throne, and the 24 elders are arranged around them.
The number twenty four represents all God's people having two sets of 12 family groups. These two groups consist of the 12 tribes of Israel and the 12 apostles of the Church. Therefore the 24 elders represent all God's people from both before and after the time of Jesus, covering the entire 7000 year span of creation history.
Saros series have 24 groups per 7000 year super cycle
Eclipse astronomy reflects the worship scene of God's heavenly throne room as the Saros series are mathematically proven to have a super cycle of nearly 7000 years during which the solar and lunar series have 12 periods each, or 24 in total. These twelve periods are visible in the Saros-Inex panorama's spikey edges, with just over 18 Saros series (columns) between each major peak.
In 7000 years, or one complete cycle of 223 Saros series, the Saros – Inex panorama has 12 periods with 18 Saros series per period and 7 remainder. (18x12)+7=223 Saros series. The Saros series are therefore accounted for in numbers of symbolic value.
The number 18 has already been discussed in relation to the 6+6+6 year Saros cycle of 18 years, and now it is confirmed in a similar way but on a much larger time scale, 12 times in nearly 7000 years. The Triads that give the Inex cycle a trinity characteristic work to make every third Saros series more alike, producing six groups of three Saros series within each of the 12 periods, another 6+6+6.
The Seven Spirits of God
Where the 12 groups of 18 Saros series represent the 12 tribes or 12 apostles, the 7 remaining series represent the 7 Spirits of God that are described as blazing before the throne of God.
Revelation 4v5b
“In front of the throne, seven lamps were blazing. These are the seven spirits of God.”
Again there is confirmation for the significance of the number 7 through an apparently unrelated mechanism. The seven Spirits of God are again seen in the way that the solar and lunar series relate to each other. They are offset by exactly seven series. The lunar eclipse series reversed between Saros 129 and 130. The solar eclipse series reversed between Saros 136 and 137. The difference between them is seven Saros series.

The Spirit of the Lord will rest on him—
the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding,
the Spirit of counsel and of might,
the Spirit of the knowledge and fear of the Lord—
and he will delight in the fear of the Lord.
The Bigger Picture
To lay out the basic facts and time periods involved: The following is an approximation of the time periods involved to help readers understand the concepts, - not a mathematical proof.
A Saros cycle about 18 years
A Saros series with a lifespan of 70 eclipses: 70 x 18 = 1260 years
The actual number of eclipses in a Saros series varies from 69 up to 89. The mathematical average is 72.4, but there is no such thing as 0.4 of an eclipse, so 72 will suffice.
A new Saros series is born and and old one dies at average intervals of about 31.3 years.
The solar and lunar series each have about 40 Saros series living and active at any one time, at various stages of their life cycle.
With a total of 223 Saros series, except for 40, the other series lie dormant.
In nearly 7000 years 223 Saros series will have been born, lived, and died in both the lunar and solar series. These each span 12 peaks in the Saros – Inex panorama, 12 periods or 12 divisions of time. (Mathematical proof by Steven Holmes as below).
This equates to 18 Saros per period for 12 periods and with 7 Saros remainder for both the lunar and solar series. (18 x 12) + 7 = 223
Is there any symbolic significance in the number 223?
The Story of Creation – from beginning to end
It is surprising to observe both 223 lunar months per Saros cycle (18 years and 11 days), and 223 Saros series per 7000 year super cycle (mathematical proof by Steven Holmes below). The number 223 appears twice on separate time scales, both having a fundamental place of importance in the system of eclipse astronomy. Both times the number of mankind – 666 is seen within their rhythms.
But how about the number 223 itself?
There are 223 solar Saros series and 223 lunar Saros series displayed in two separate Saros – Inex panoramas. Combining both gives a total of 446 Saros series in nearly 7000 years, but there are reasons to consider 444 separately, and then the last two.
Four is the number for creation. The more glorious number is 444, which could represent God's creation completed as it will be at the time of the end. With all the various families of mankind symbolised by the Saros series, 444 Saros may represent all creation having come to fruition, from the first and up to but not including the final generation. The last two are to be considered separately.
While 444 Saros series are born, live and then die, the last solar series and lunar series will have a different ending, symbolically speaking. These two may represent those still living on the great and glorious day of the Lord. God has plans to show himself holy through his people in those days, and “holy” means “separate.”
The great 7000 year super cycle is expected to finish a little early, just before the final lunar and solar series have completed their time. Scripture describes the tribulation of the last days saying, “if those days were not cut short no human being would be saved, but for the sake of the elect those days will be cut short” (Mat 24v22), and “we will not all sleep, but we will all be changed...” (2Cor 15v51). So it is fitting that the final two Saros series remain alive and active until the end comes.
It is interesting to note that the great tribulation is said in Scripture to be 7 years, or especially 3 and a half which is 42 months or 1260 days. (Rev 11v7-12, 12v6 & 14, 13v5, Daniel 7v25,8v14, 9v27, 12v7-12).
A Saros series with 70 eclipses (the average is 72) will live for 1260 years. Remember the Saros cycle is about 18 years, so 70 x 18 = 1260.
Am I confusing days with years? It is called a week in Dan 9v27 but we understand it to be 7 years, or perhaps just one year for the final generation. Perhaps for God to see the day of suffering come on His beloved people is like to endure a thousand years. Normally that is put the other way around. What matters is that we will be perfectly united in Christ, united in His sufferings so that we may also be united in His glory when He comes.
We are only considering the symbolic meaning, and so precise astronomical time periods are not important. We can't use this information to predict exactly when Jesus will return because it is not for us to know the hour or day. The actual astronomical time periods are not meant to be taken literally, but as Psalm 19 says, God's knowledge is on display in the heavens. The celestial mechanics tell a true story.
With 446 Saros series in almost 7000 years, 444 will be complete, and two will come last. These two are special. Lets consider the final generation once more for confirmation.
The average number of eclipses in a Saros series is 72, so the last two Saros series have about 144 eclipses. This immediately brings to mind the 144000 who are sealed from the 12 tribes of Israel, the tribulation saints. It is especially fitting given that the Saros series have 12 groups of series. The order and numerical structure is again very Biblical.
Considering these two final Saros series, solar and lunar: God made us male and female. There were two houses of Israel, two witnesses in Revelation 11 and Jesus sent out 72 disciples two by two, (Luke 10v1-24). With an average of 72 eclipses per Saros series this seems especially significant. Our Creator is awesome, and there is lots for contemplation.
The most stunning aspect of the numerology in eclipse astronomy is the way it matches the glorious throne room of God. The details match beautifully and the symbolic meaning seems to be designed especially for this purpose. It cannot be made up by humans, we just observe and give praise to God for His glory on display in creation.
The 7000 year cycle and the eternal nature – mathematical proof
The mathematical proof for the 7000 year super cycle with 12 periods is laid out by the computer scientist and mathematician, Steven Holmes. His web site is the most detailed and accurate study of the Saros series that I have seen.

Holmes speaks of the of the “re-starts” of the Saros series, referring to their “re-birth” at 7000 year intervals. Astronomers don't usually limit their thought to Biblical history, but think on much longer time scales. Here too we see God's truth. Holmes describes the eternal nature of the Saros in his own words:

Holmes' mathematical proof is beautiful. I won't include the proof in this article as it takes a large amount of study to be able to comprehend the meaning of all the various terms of the equation, but I'll give a brief explanation of how the proof works.
There are various ways of calculating how many Saros series should theoretically exist in an “Era”. It is observed that an Era currently consists of 223 Saros in nearly 7000 years, but due to small changes in the moon's orbit over time it would be expected that the number of Saros series would change over time. However Holmes found that by surprise the number of Saros series remains constant in all Eras. Therefore all 223 Saros series exist eternally.
The eternal nature of the Saros series testifies to the character of God, Who has made mankind in His own image.
“It was not at all obvious how these apparently unconnected (and variable) values could possibly give a constant result of 223 until I re-arranged the terms in the second equation” - Holmes
On rearranging the terms of the equation it becomes apparent that equivalent expressions can be substituted in certain places, and as these are re-arranged they cancel each other out, producing the remarkable result that an Era (E) always has 223 Saros series regardless of secular changes.
Without explaining all the terms of the final equation, E is for Era, and I'll share with you the mathematician's moment of glory.
“It thus turns out that the two expressions are calculating exactly the same thing and so must give exactly the same answer! That is, independent of any specific values we might give the parameters, (A / L) = (W / 180) by definition! We now see that, by means of this equality, the terms (S/Y) x A and (180/W) in the expression for E will cancel themselves out, resulting in an (invariant) value for E of exactly 223. QED, as my old maths master used to say!!” - Holmes
QED — The Latin “quod erat demonstrandum” literally means “what was to be demonstrated.” The phrase was also used by ancient Greek mathematicians, placed at the end of logical proofs, saying “I proved what I set out to.”
E is for “Era” - with exactly 223 Saros series in nearly 7000 years, which is the time frame of the Biblical history of creation.
This Era, or 7000 year super cycle consists of 12 sub-cycles. In the below quote Holmes discusses the 12 sub-cycles as “pure coincidence (and I'm sure that is all it is),” but we who believe would say that its God's design.
“There is no reason for the re-starts of a series after intervals of an Era to have any particular similarity, as much will have changed in the close to 7,000yrs between them including, critically, the parameter that has the greatest effect on the composition of Saros series - delta-gamma. However, during the period covered by the part of the Saros-Inex Panorama normally shown in diagrams they will in fact be quite similar due to the pure coincidence (and I'm sure that is all it is) that 223/12 = 18.58, which just happens to be close to the mean periodicity of this part of the Panorama (19 series towards the left side of the Panorama and slowly decreasing as you move to the right). The Panorama will thus have gone through about 12 full cycles after 223 series, resulting in the series from that point onwards having a very similar pattern to those at the starting point” - Holmes
Steven Holmes makes no direct mention of Biblical significance, but he does see the “deeper meaning” that is woven into the celestial mechanics of eclipse astronomy. Holmes is impressed by the “eternal” nature of the Saros series, because although they live and then die, they continue to exist while in a dormant state within the great “Ferris Wheel” of Saros series until their time comes to be born again.
Of course, we believe that “the earth will give birth to her dead” (Is 26v19) when Jesus returns, at the final resurrection on the day of the Lord.
“The reader will note from the above that 223 is also the number of synodic months in a Saros period. This is not just a numerical coincidence born out of the way the formulae fall out but is in fact indicative of a "deeper meaning". Because the orbital parameters of the Moon return to the same configuration after 223 lunations (this fact being the whole basis of the Saros period) there are really only 223 unique New Moons. Under the "eternal Saros" way of thinking all New Moons have a Saros series number, not just those associated with eclipses, so if there are only 223 unique New Moons there can only be 223 unique Saros series numbers. QED again? Well, sort of.” - Holmes
After considering some possible inconsistencies Holmes finds the theory withstands all tests, so concludes his article:

As for the ultimate rebirth, the great resurrection from the dead is what we as believers in Jesus look forward to when He returns.
I have already drawn an analogy to the wheels of the God's war chariot in Ezekiel 1 and 10. Steven Holmes uses the London Eye as an analogy as he considers the way some Saros series are active (taking passengers) while most of the others have either left the station, or are yet to arrive.
“ An analogy might be the cars on a Ferris Wheel, such as the London Eye. These are a fixed distance apart and so there can clearly only be a certain number of them around the rim of the wheel, and this will be true whether the wheel is stationary or spinning. The cars will always retain the same relationship relative to each other even though their relationship to an external observer will change continuously. - Holmes
“ This analogy can in fact be extended further. Imagine that the "station" below the Ferris Wheel has space for three cars. If the wheel is stationary the same three cars will be in the station all the time and so there will be an infinite period when they are available to take passengers. If the wheel is rotating there will still be three cars in the station but which exact cars this is will change from moment to moment as cars enter and leave the station area (at the same rate, clearly!). Each individual car will now only be able to take passengers for a short period of time - when it is in the station - but every car will become "active" eventually. The correspondence should be obvious: for Ferris Wheel read Moon's orbit, for car read Saros series, for station read eclipse window and for "able to take passengers" read "capable of causing an eclipse". - Holmes

These analogies are beautiful, but they have their limits. As we consider life and death being like active and inactive Saros series, bear in mind that Christians believe history is ultimately linear, not cyclical.
In our linear view of history, Christians understand that the world will not continue indefinitely as certain eastern religions teach when they speak of reincarnation. We believe that God will put a stop to everything soon, and then the dead will rise.
The only way to for all eclipse families to become active simultaneously (to ‘break’ Steven Holmes’ Ferris Wheel analogy) would be if God knocked the wheel down flat, onto the ground. Only then could all the cars become active at the same moment — as if all 223 cars tried arriving at the station simultaneously. It might not look so good…
Consider the destruction that will place when the end comes:
“All the stars in the sky will be dissolved and the heavens rolled up like a scroll; all the starry host will fall like withered leaves from the vine, like shriveled figs from the fig tree.” — Isaiah 34v4
“But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything done in it will be laid bare.” — 2 Peter 3v10
“There will be a time of distress such as has not happened from the beginning of nations until then. But at that time your people—everyone whose name is found written in the book—will be delivered. Multitudes who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake: some to everlasting life, others to shame and everlasting contempt. Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever. But you, Daniel, roll up and seal the words of the scroll until the time of the end. Many will go here and there to increase knowledge.” — Daniel 12v1b-4
“Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.” — Matthew 24v35
Those who are in Christ Jesus, will be born into the new creation when Jesus returns:
Then I saw “a new heaven and a new earth,” for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” — Revelation 21v1-5a
Please consider the good news, the gospel, that tells how we may become part of the new creation — by putting our faith in Jesus, and walking with Him.
CONCLUSION:
Eclipse astronomy reveals an enormous amount about God through the glory of His creation. Using symbols of light and dark, the sun, earth and moon move in ways that speak of the ultimate struggle between good and evil that will take place at the end of the age.
Psalm 19v2 “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge.”
The eclipse reversal is a pattern of symmetry that emanates from the 5th of January 2015. All eclipses taking place after that date now mirror corresponding eclipses that took place prior to that date. The pattern expands outwards in perfect chronological sequence, and with stunning geometric beauty — for ever.
The eclipse reversal was caused by an interaction between two important eclipse cycles: the Saros and the Inex.
The Inex is known for providing order to the Saros series, being named for the way it marks the “In”-coming of new Saros, and the “Ex” (exit) of the old. Therefore the rhythm of the Inex reveals the cause of the phenomenon.
The Inex has a perfect relationship with the draconic month. There is almost no margin of error, its rhythm is exact. This gives the Inex a kind of immortality, and allows it to behave as “King” of the eclipse cycles.
The Inex has a cycle period of exactly:
777 draconic months!
Symbolically, this speaks of:
“God’s Dragon!”
The eclipse reversal reveals God’s Dragon in 2015, at a time of great religious significance: at the very centre of the well known Biblical Blood Moon Tetrad of 2014 and 2015. This draws attention to God’s appointed times.
The reversal took place on the 5th of January — Epiphany Eve.
Epiphany speaks of “Appearance”. Traditionally on the 12th day of Christmas we remember the appearance of Jesus as the Son of God, to the world. But on Epiphany Eve we remember the Heavenly Sign that the wise men followed to the new born Christ child.
This heavenly sign is telling us:
God’s Dragon has Appeared!
The sign of the dragon is foretold in Revelation 12 along with the birth of the Christ child — “A great and wondrous sign appeared in heaven.” (Revelation 12v1).
God’s woman gives birth to His child right in front of the dragon (Rev 12v4). This occurred on the 23rd September 2017 with amazing perfection, in the precise astronomical circumstances given in Revelation 12v1-2.
We have now seen the apparent fulfillments of both heavenly signs described in Revelation 12. Therefore we should expect the conflict that takes place when God’s child is born.
Please continue looking into these things with me so that we may test the prophecy. If true, we are considering the birth of the final generation.
To understand the calamity that takes place when God’s child is born we must study Jesus.
The final generation is expected to fulfil prophecy according to the testimony of Jesus as revealed in typology throughout the Old Testament.
In short, it means war, but we need not fear. God always keeps his family safe during the vulnerable time of birth. An escape is revealed for both mother and child.
The great journey of the final generation is about to begin.
